Who's Here?

In the field today are several of Australia's best-known players. Mel Judah made an on-time arrival and is playing over on Table 22, dressed in a sharp lime green polo. Emad Tahtouh, however is going for the "Hellmuthian" approach and has yet to take his seat on Table 15. Also playing today are Lee "Final Table" Nelson, Billy "The Croc" Argyros, Maurie Pears, and Julius Colman (who recently made a deep run in the Main Event of the WSOP-Europe, finishing 30th).

Early Eliminations

We missed the names of the players, but the first two bustouts involved one player with K-K running into pocket Aces. Another unknown player busted out with set over set.

Luke McLean = Early Chipleader

Luke McLean has over 9,000 in chips after he busted two players on the same hand.

McLean: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Player 1: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Player 2: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The flop was {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Player 1 flopped the nut straight. The turn was the {3-Spades} and the river was the {Q-Clubs}. McLean rivered a full house to send both players to the rail.

Grant Carleton = 10K

Grant Carleton has taken over the chiplead after knocking out two players on the same hand.

On a flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, three players were all in.

Carleton: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Player 1: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Player 2: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Carleton flopped a Broadway straight against an opponent with a set and another who held top pair and a gutshot. The turn was the {4-Hearts} and the river was the {2-Clubs}. Carleton's hand held up and he increased his stack to 10,000 as both of his opponents headed to the rail.

Get This Man a New Outfit!

Gursel Ali, who won the short-handed no-limit hold'em event at this summer's Victorian Championships is, unfortunately, wearing the exact same track suit he donned during that event. With his win, one might think that he'd spend a little of that coin on some new threads!
