Nick Webb Eliminated in Controversial Circumstances

Dan O'Shea raises to 8,000 and Michael Dunworth calls from the button. Nick Webb moves all in from the big blind for just over 140,000. Dan O'Shea folds and Dunworth announces, "Call, do you have a pair?" and tables pocket threes.

At this point in time, there seems to be some discrepency as to what was said, and Webb mucks his hand, thinking he has won the pot. Crown Tournament Director Brett Jones is called in to make a ruling. After some time in the tank, he eventually rules that since Dunworth had announced "call" and is the only one with a tabled hand, he will win the pot. As Dunworth has Webb covered, the ruling is effectively a disqualification, sending Nick Webb to the rail.

In a hand that developed into the largest pot of the tournament so far, Rowan Petz opened for 20,000, Con Angelakis reraised to 100,000 and Petz called. The flop was {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Petz moved all in for 396,000 on the flop and after tanking for several minutes, Angelakis made the call, turning up {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a set, while Petz showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, and Petz was drawing dead. The river was the {Q-Clubs}, making Angelakis eights full, and he raked in a pot worth over 800,000. Petz was left with only 20,000 in chips.
