Gray Skies

Liam Gray was eliminated from the tournament just before the break after getting his last 1,500 in holding {J-Spades} {J-Hearts} on an {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} board. Maureen Beresen challenged with {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} and the turn and river bricked out {3-Spades}, {5-Spades} to send Gray to the rail.

"I'm not going to the break with 1,500," Gray said in his exit.

Double For Theo

Theo Rousalis
Theo Rousalis
Theo Rousalis has been sitting patiently so far today, but just found a nice double up holding {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The board fell {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} to double Rousalis up to 4,200 chips.

Smooth Sailing On Golden Waters

Steve Goldwater and Linda Thorton got all of their chips into the middle on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, with Thorton showing {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the wheel plus the nut flush draw as Goldwater flipped {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for middle set!

Needing the board to pair, Goldwater was relieved to see the {3-Hearts} peel off on the turn to give him a full house as Thorton went from a monster to drawing to one out; the case four, which would give Goldwater quads but make Thorton a straight flush. It wasn't to be as the river blanked the {K-Clubs}, ending the day for Thorton and jumping Goldwater, who is a regular tournament player at Crown Casino, up to 15,000 chips and in great shape.

Half Empty or Half Full?

It's usually not strange to have lost a large portion of the field by level seven of a tournament, however with this tournament less than three hours old, we're already in that situation! This one is moving quickly with already half the field gone. There are only 210 players remaining!

Lee Leads

Hong Lee has stormed up the chip count leaderboard after a massive three-way all in clash. Lee held {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} to be in a dominant position against his opponent's {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The board fell {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts} to send two to the exit as Lee stacked up 19,000 worth of chips.

Malishev Claims Another

Andrew Jeffreys opened with a raise to 1,050 from early position before Adam Malishev bumped it to 2,700. Dion George moved all in for 1,300 from late position, and the action folded back to Jeffreys who tanked before making the call.

With a player all in, the two live players checked down a board of {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. George had missed with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, Jeffreys flashed a pair of sevens but Malishev took the pot with his {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} to jump up to 16,000 and send George to the rail.

Tang You Very Much

Danny Tang just got the best of a three-way all in that helped him climb to 19,000 in chips.

On a board showing {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, Tang got involved with {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} and had both of his opponents covered. At the showdown, he found himself up against {A-Spades} {5-Spades} and {3-Hearts} {4-Hearts}.

Running sixes on the turn and river gave Tang two pair, counterfitting his opponent's aces and fives and earning him the checkmark for the hand.
