Nyberg Fights Back

Dean Nyberg has doubled up to give himself a chance of sneaking into the final table against the dynamic duo of Jai Kemp and Steve Topakas.

Nyberg shoved with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Kemp took him on with the {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} but the board ran out {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to leave Nyberg's nines and sixes as the best hand to scoop the double up. He's up to 26,000 chips.

Some Action On The Other Tables

Sean Keeton hits the rail
Sean Keeton hits the rail
We've lost our first players on some of the other tables as Chris Evans has been eliminated from table 32, while Sean Keeton has just busted from table 30 after losing a race with pocket eights against the {A-?}{10-?} of Steve Leonard.

Meanwhile Mat Hawker has found a much needed triple up after flopping a set against Andrew Jeffreys and Stewart Scott.

The flop read {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} when the chips went into the middle with the short stack of Hawker showing {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Jeffreys tabling {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} while Scott made a crying call with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and river the {9-Hearts} and Hawker triples to nearly 8,000 while Jeffreys stays alive by winning the side pot.

One for the Champ

Scott: picks up a pot
Scott: picks up a pot
It's been slow going on table 32 but we have managed to pick up a hand recently.

Andrew 'Adgee' Jeffreys raised to 400 from the cutoff preflop, only to find Stewart Scott reraising from the small blind to 1,500. Jeffreys made the call and they both checked a flop and turn of {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

On the river {3-Clubs}, Scott led out for 2,500 and Jeffreys let it go.

"Yep, you got me," muttered Jeffreys.
"I know you didn't have an ace," Scott replied.
"Nice hand sir," said Jeffreys. "One for the champ!"

'Adgee' Busto

No love for 'Adgee'
No love for 'Adgee'
On a flop that read {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Andrew Jeffreys checked to Stewart Scott who fired out 1,000. Jeffreys raised all in but Scott double-fist-pump-snap-called, tabling {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} which was well ahead of Jeffreys' {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

The turn and river of {8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} was salt into the wound for the Live vs Online Heads-Up 'Flipament' Champ - Jeffreys is out.

Walsh Walks

Lisa Walsh Eliminated
Lisa Walsh Eliminated
Lisa Walsh is our next player to be sent to the rail after she committed her last 2,100 on a flop of {10-Clubs}{K-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Bill Jordanou thought for a moment or two before making the call.

Walsh: {J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Jordanou: {K-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The turn was the {8-Spades} and river the {4-Diamonds} to miss Walsh's outs and send her to the rail as the first elimination from table 31.

Banana Split

Brkovic busted!
Brkovic busted!
The Online Team has lost another in the form of Aleks 'Banana Thief' Brkovic after being eliminated at the hands of Bruno Portaro.

Portaro raised it up to 600 before the flop, only to see Brkovic reraise to 1,700. Portaro moved all in over the top and Brkovic snap-called.

Brkovic: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Portaro: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The flop of {6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} helped neither player, but Portaro took the lead on the turn {A-Hearts}. Needing a nine to stay alive, the {K-Clubs} bricked out on the river to end Brkovic's day.

Live Team On The Comeback Trail As Nyberg Busts

Dean Nyberg Eliminated
Dean Nyberg Eliminated
The carnage on Table 29 has finally come to an end with Steve Topakas and Jai Kemp, both representing the Live Team, both advancing to the final over Dean Nyberg.

In the final hand the last chips went into the middle on the turn on a board of {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Nyberg held the lead with his {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for pair and straight draw as Kemp tabled an ambitious {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}.

After seeing so many rivers go against them yesterday, Topakas and Kemp roared in delight when the {K-Clubs} appeared to give the Live Team the first two players onto the final table!

Kemp will take 53,750 chips into the final while Topakas holds 26,250 chips.

Pearson Trips Out

Pearson: is a sad panda ...
Pearson: is a sad panda ...
After some preflop action that saw Bruno Portaro call Trung Tran's raise of 400 from the big blind, Matthew 'OnMyVPlates' Pearson cracked it, flinging his chips everywhere and storming off on a flop that read {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Tran and Portaro continued on calmly; Portaro raised all in over the top of Tran's opening bet of 1,375. Tran mucked and Pearson revealed to us just why he went troppo on that flop:

"I folded threes!"

Scott Silenced

Stewart Scott Eliminated
Stewart Scott Eliminated
Joel Dodds and Stewart Scott had the chips in preflop with Scott's tournament life on the line. Dodds flipped {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} but found himself up against Scott's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

An ace and a queen on the flop was more than enough for Dodds to take it down and send the Live Team captain to the rail without any points for his efforts today.
