Panagiotidis had the chip lead midway through the day before he expanded it much further when he won a massive three-way pot when his aces held against his opponent's ace-king and ace-jack.

Also finishing with top five chip stacks on Day 1c were Alexander Milanov (second - 487,000), Spyridon Michailidis (third - 474,000), Achilleas Nomidis (fourth - 315,000), and Dimitrios Barmpathanasis (fifth - 278,000).

Day 1d began midway through Day 1c. Five players advanced led by Greece's Dimitrios Michailidis. Regardless of how things end for Michailidis on Day 2 and beyond, he already had an amazing PokerNews Cup as he shipped the High Roller on Thursday for €23,025 $25,873 after agreeing to a heads-up deal with Marios Tzakos.

After 18 levels of 30 minutes each, Greece's Panagiotis Panagiotidis bagged a chip leading stack of 636,000 on Day 1c of the PokerNews Cup Kulata €550 Main Event. This is just behind the 640,000 bagged on Day 1b by Bulgaria's Rosen Simeonov.

The flight attracted 61 entrants or more than the 52 that battled it out in Day 1a and Day 1b combined. The final turbo opening flight is still in progress. When taking into account the 28 entrants in that flight, the Main Event attracted 141 entrants.

A total of ten players advanced from the Day 1c field, which means there will be 24 players battling it out tomorrow down to a final table when taking into account the four players that bagged on Day 1a, the five players that bagged on Day 1b, and the five players that will eventually bag chips on Day 1d.

Bulgaria's Alexander Milanov and Greece's Spyridon Michailidis also bagged big stacks on Day 1c. Here is a look at the final chip counts of the day.

Huge Double for Michailidis

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

PokerNews Cup

Spyridon Michailidis open-jammed for 30 big blinds from the cutoff. Loukas Kioutsoukis asked for a count and was told it was 239,000.

He tanked for a couple of minutes before he made the call.

The race was on with Michailidis holding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Kioutsoukis holding {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Michailidis got out of his seat after his opponent paired the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop. He got right back in his chair after the {9-Hearts} came on the turn to give him a flush. The {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Michailidis won the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

Panagiotidis Eliminates Koutoupas

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sotirios Koutoupas
Sotirios Koutoupas

Sotirios Koutoupas jammed for about 14 big blinds from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and was called by Panagiotis Panagiotidis in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

Koutoupas had live cards but hit the rail after he was unable to hit any of the {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} board.

But have no fear, according to this interview with Sarah Herring, he might have another bullet in him yet.

A short while later, Diyan Stanev also hit the rail.

Meanwhile, Panagiotidis not only has the most chips in play of the remaining 12 players in the Day 1c field but as of now has more chips than Day 1a chip leader Marian Ivanov with 580,000 and of Day 1b chip leader Rosen Simeonov with 640,000.

Epskamp Hits the Rail

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Yori Epskamp
Yori Epskamp

Our PokerNews' very own Yori Epskamp is out short of the money. The PokerNews Global Live Reporting Manager jammed all in from the small blind with {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and was called by Dimitrios Barmpathanasis for 57,000 total with {a-}{k-}. An {a-} came on the flop and Epskamp was unable to catch up to bring him down to 21,500 in chips.

A couple of hands later, Epskamp jammed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the rest of his stack and was called by Barmpathanasis with {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades} ran out on the board and Epskamp was flushed out of the tournament six players shy of making it to Day 2.

A couple of hands later on the same time, Dimosthenis Spyridis hit the rail and after that hand, there were 14 players remaining with 10 advancing to Day 2.

Milanov Wins a Huge Pot with Aces

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
PokerNews Cup Kulata
PokerNews Cup Kulata

Dimitrios Barmpathanasis opened for 11,000 from under the gun. Alexander Milanov called from middle position as did the players on the button, the small blind, and the big blind.

Three players checked before Milanov bet 25,000 after the {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} came on the flop. It folded around to Barmpathanasis who raised it to 80,000. Milanov jammed for about 140,000 and Barmpathanasis snap-called.

Alexander Milanov: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Dimitrios Barmpathanasis: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

"Nice hand," Barmpathanasis said after he saw his opponent's pocket rockets.

Neither the {q-Spades} on the turn nor the {3-Diamonds} on the river proved to be of help for Barmpathanasis and the dealer sent a monster pot over to Milanov.

A short while later on the same table, Dritan Korimani was unable to survive long enough to bag chips for Day 2 and there are 17 players remaining in the Day 1c field.

Kioutsoukis Eliminates Christodoulis

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Aris Christodoulis
Aris Christodoulis

Loukas Kioutsoukis opened from the cutoff to 9,000. Dimitrios Michailidis called from the small blind before Aris Christodoulis
jammed for about 65,000 from the big blind. Kioutsoukis called and Michailidis folded.

Aris Christodoulis: {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Loukas Kioutsoukis: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The {5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Spades} flop was a safe one for Christodoulis. But it went downhill from there as the {j-Clubs} on the turn gave his opponent a pair better than his treys. The {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Christodoulis was eliminated.

Play was paused after the hand to consolidate play to two tables with 18 players left and 10 advancing to Day 2 in the money.

Symeon Alexandridis opened to 5,500 from early position. Emil Trenkov jammed from blinds with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for 53,000.

"Okay," said Alexandridis with a shrug before he made the call with {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Trenkov was on the losing end of the flip and was eliminated after the {4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} ran out on the board. The action was down to three tables after the hand.

Right after tables were consolidated, Dimitrios Dimitros and Konstantin Rashkov were both eliminated to bring the field down to 25.

Symeon Alexandridis

Emil Trenkov opened to 6,000 from under the gun before Symeon Alexandridis jammed for 34,000. The action paused on Sotirios Koutoupas.

"I want a call," Alexandridis said before Koutoupas ultimately folded.

Trenkov found a call and turned over {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Trenkov was ahead with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs} ran out on the board and Alexandridis doubled off Trenkov.

At the same time on another table, Konstantinos Nanas was eliminated from the tournament. A total of 30 players remain battling it out for the 10 spots that advance Day 2 already in the money.
