Panagiotidis Eliminates Koutoupas

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sotirios Koutoupas
Sotirios Koutoupas

Sotirios Koutoupas jammed for about 14 big blinds from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and was called by Panagiotis Panagiotidis in the big blind with {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

Koutoupas had live cards but hit the rail after he was unable to hit any of the {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} board.

But have no fear, according to this interview with Sarah Herring, he might have another bullet in him yet.

A short while later, Diyan Stanev also hit the rail.

Meanwhile, Panagiotidis not only has the most chips in play of the remaining 12 players in the Day 1c field but as of now has more chips than Day 1a chip leader Marian Ivanov with 580,000 and of Day 1b chip leader Rosen Simeonov with 640,000.

Huge Double for Michailidis

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Spyridon Michailidis open-jammed for 30 big blinds from the cutoff. Loukas Kioutsoukis asked for a count and was told it was 239,000.

He tanked for a couple of minutes before he made the call.

The race was on with Michailidis holding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Kioutsoukis holding {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Michailidis got out of his seat after his opponent paired the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop. He got right back in his chair after the {9-Hearts} came on the turn to give him a flush. The {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Michailidis won the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

Hand for Hand After Gkikoulis Hits the Rail

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dimitrios Gkikoulis
Dimitrios Gkikoulis

Alexander Milanov shoved from the small blind more than the two big blinds Dimitrios Gkikoulis had in the big blind and his opponent called.

Milanov was ahead the entire way with {j-Clubs}{8-Spades} against his opponent's {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

The {q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} ran out on the board and play was hand for hand after Gkikoulis was eliminated two shy of the money.

Day 1c Ends After Liavas Bubbles

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Nikolaos Liavas
Nikolaos Liavas

Nikolaos Liavas three-bet jammed from 20,000 to 80,000 with {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and was called by Achilleas Nomidis with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

The {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board was no good for Liavas and he ended Day 1c on the bubble. The remaining 10 players will each advance to tomorrow's Day 2 and will already be in the money.

Players are bagging chips and we will have final chip counts shortly. Day 1d will likely go on for another couple of hours and the seat draw won't be released for tomorrow's Day 2 until the tournament organizers know who is advancing.
