Dinner Break After Level 19

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

"It feels like a home game, I like this place," Liv Boeree said and Harry Lodge agreed after both were about to get back from their break and head to different tables. The floor staff also confirmed that the dinner break will take place after the end of level 19, which means two levels of 60 minutes each are still to be finished until then.

Urban Doubles Therme

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, the action escalated between David Urban and Jonathan Therme. The latter was all in for 181,000 with the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Urban needed some help with {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} in order to avoid a big loss. The flop of {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} gave him a gutshot, however neither the {3-Diamonds} turn nor the {6-Clubs} river helped the Slovakian and he had to forfeit two third of his stack.

Le Goff Loses Flip to Zarco

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Eric Le Goff
Eric Le Goff

Eric Le Goff started the hand with a raise from early position and Javier Zarco reraised before Le Goff then shoved for around 170,000. Zarco called and Le Goff had a flip for his tournament life.

Eric Le Goff: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Javier Zarco: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} flop improved Le Goff, but the {6-Spades} turn saw the Frenchman drawing dead. The {8-Clubs} on the river was a mere formality, but would have given Zarco the better hand also, and the Spaniard joined the top of the leader board.

James Akenhead

Valentin Frunze opened to 18,000 from under the gun and Neophytos Neophytou called from one seat over. The action folded to James Akenhead and he pushed for 128,000 in the big blind. Frunze reraised all in and Neophytou quickly folded.

James Akenhead: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Valentin Frunze: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

After a blank board of {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades}, the next big name was sent to the rail as Akenhead had to settle for 22nd place.

Double Elimination Vaults Johnson Into the Lead

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
David Urban
David Urban

After a raise by Joe Johnson from the hijack, David Urban shoved his last 100,000 or so from the cutoff and the action reached Tiago Da Silva Freitas Branco in the small blind. The Portuguese announced all in for around 200,000 and Johnson called.

David Urban: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Tiago Da Silva Freitas Branco: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Joe Johnson: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The {Q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop improved Johnson to a set and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {9-Spades} river kept the Brit in the lead to eliminate two opponents. Johnson jumped in the lead and there were suddenly just 19 players left.

Ivanov Busts to Neophytou

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mladen Ivanov (left)

Another short stack had patiently waited for a chance to double up and that was Mladen Ivanov. Neophytos Neophytou had raised to 18,000 on the button and called the shove worth 50,000 to put Ivanov at risk.

Mladen Ivanov: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Neophytos Neophytou: {J-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Spades} flop brought some gasps at the table, but that was nothing compared to the river card. But first, the {6-Hearts} fell and changed nothing just yet. Then, the final community card was turned over and it was the {J-Diamonds} to restore the preflop order and give Neophytou the higher full house.
