Asmolov Doubles Through Li

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Timofey Asmolov previously clashed with Shengyu Li and saw his ace-seven lose against king-queen. Both got their stacks in again just now with very similar hands and it was Asmolov, who raised and ultimately four-bet all in for 118,000. Li followed up his three-bet for a call worth almost one third of his stack and the cards were tabled.

Timofey Asmolov: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Shengyu Li: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

The {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop took away some outs from Li and Asmolov locked up the double with the {A-Hearts} on the turn, making the {7-Spades} river a formality. "King queen again?" Li was asked and he simply nodded.

Obara Gets There Against Muthu

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

While Mansour Matloubi and Peter Plater slipped down further, Jun Obara as one of the other short stacks made a move that eventually paid off. Obara open-shoved for 117,000 from the small blind and Sathesh Muthu called in the big blind.

Jun Obara: {K-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Sathesh Muthu: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}

The {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop didn't change much yet, but Obara improved to a pair of kings on the {K-Diamonds} turn. A blank {3-Diamonds} river ensured the double up and Muthu lost the lead for the first time since mid-way through the first level of the day.

All You Can Shove

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Yo Seb Rhee limped in fromn the small blind and Jun Obara moved all in for mighty 50 big blinds from one seat over. Rhee asked for a count and folded.

Peter Plater shoved a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Simon Burns folded, he was then shown {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Plater was relieved and Burns told him "you are only ever gonna get called by a better hand."

Celine Lee open-shoved for around 120,000 and won the blinds and antes, while Plater three-bet all in after a raise to 12,000 by Shengyu Li and a call by Hermann Lee. Li reshoved to force out Lee and Plater chopped it up with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} versus {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}.

Last but not least, Mansour Matloubi got his last 12 big blinds in and found no caller.

Three Double Ups

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Hand 1

Jun Obara raised to 15,000 and called the shove of short stack Mansour Matloubi for 65,000.

Mansour Matloubi: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Jun Obara: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The board came {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Matloubi doubled up.

Hand 2

Picking up the action on the {Q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} turn, Hermann Lee bet and called a raise to 35,000 by Simon Burns to see the {7-Spades} on the river. Now it was Lee that checked and Burns bet 25,000. Lee check-raised to 100,000 and Burns snap-called to see his {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} get cracked by Lee's {K-Spades}{5-Spades}. Burns was ready to surrender his entire stack, but had in fact another 21,000 behind after the call.

Hand 3

Shengyu Li raised to 12,000 and called the shove of Burns for 20,500, tabling {K-Spades}{8-Spades}. Burns needed help with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and got there on the board {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

First Action After Dinner

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Shengyu Li raised to 13,000 and Timofey Asmolov called from two seats over. The flop fell {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Li continued for 13,000, then joked "friendly" to his opponent. Asmolov raised to 45,000 and returned the "friendly" in table chat with a big grin on the face. Li folded and was shown the {A-Clubs}.

Jun Obaray raised to 14,000 to win the blinds and antes before Sathesh Muthu's raise to 14,000 was called by Mansour Matloubi. Li moved in from the big blind and won the pot. Celina Lee shoved right after to claim the blinds and antes.
