Timofey Asmolov previously clashed with Shengyu Li and saw his ace-seven lose against king-queen. Both got their stacks in again just now with very similar hands and it was Asmolov, who raised and ultimately four-bet all in for 118,000. Li followed up his three-bet for a call worth almost one third of his stack and the cards were tabled.

While Mansour Matloubi and Peter Plater slipped down further, Jun Obara as one of the other short stacks made a move that eventually paid off. Obara open-shoved for 117,000 from the small blind and Sathesh Muthu called in the big blind.

Picking up the action on the turn, Hermann Lee bet and called a raise to 35,000 by Simon Burns to see the on the river. Now it was Lee that checked and Burns bet 25,000. Lee check-raised to 100,000 and Burns snap-called to see his get cracked by Lee's . Burns was ready to surrender his entire stack, but had in fact another 21,000 behind after the call.
