Teipel Busts to Rauta

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Fellow German Stefan Schulze walked over to rail the last two tables and said "well, guess I am just in time" when spotting Phillipp Teipel all in and at risk for just 38,000 from the button. Dorin Rauta eventually called out of the big blind to put the German at risk.

Phillipp Teipel: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Dorin Rauta: {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

It was all good for Teipel on the {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and the {2-Diamonds} turn, but the {9-Clubs} fell on the river to improve Rauta to a full house.

Kuzmanovic Takes from Parrino

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Boris Kuzmanovic defended his big blind against the raise of Pietro Errante Parrino and check-called a bet on the {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop. On the {K-Clubs} turn, Kuzmanovic checked again and Parrino bet 38,000, which the Croatian called.

Both then checked the {J-Hearts} river and Kuzmanovic showed {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Parrino mucked.

Meiri Takes from Uguccioni

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Within two hands, Aviv Meiri took almost half the stack off Michael Uguccioni to leave the Italian visibly annoyed, recovering chips that he had previously lost.

Uguccioni raised to 20,000 and just Meiri called on the button. Without any action, Meiri then shoved the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Hearts} river when it was checked to him and Uguccioni immediately said he put his opponent on nines. "It must be your lucky day," the Italian added.

Soon after, Meiri called a bet worth 27,000 on the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs} river and Uguccioni showed {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for top pair. "I got lucky," Meiri admitted while rolling over {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for the straight.

Urban is on a Mission

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

David Urban four-bet twice to claim the pots uncontested and force folds from Dorin Rauta, Sebastian Malec and table neighbor Boris Kuzmanovic.

He was then involved in another hand with Rauta and called the river bet worth 32,000 by Rauta on a nine-high paired board with {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Rauta only had {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and both players had paired their kicker to see yet another pot being shipped to Urban.

After his previous fortunate double up, the Slovakian has become the chip leader.

Bartos Doubles Through Ban

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Zoltan Ban forced a fold from Aviv Meiri not long ago by over-betting a queen-high river with flush draw and just now opened to 22,000. Short stack Martin Bartos pushed from the big blind and Ban asked for a count, the all in was for 91,000. Ban eventually called and the cards were tabled.

Martin Bartos: {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Zoltan Ban: {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The board came {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and the kicker played to let Bartos double. "Now you know you had to call before," Daniil Kiselev said to Meiri, and both players laughed and bumped fists.

Willsch Loses Flip to Malec

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mirko Willsch
Mirko Willsch

The next German bows out and Mirko Willsch has to settle for 15th place and a payday of €4,306.

Down to 128,000, Willsch moved all in from under the gun and the action folded all the way around to Sebastian Malec in the big blind. He glanced at his cards and tossed in a single chip for the call.

Mirko Willsch: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Sebastian Malec: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}

The German had a flip for his tournament life and stood up from his chair when the flop came {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. On {A-Clubs} turn, Malec also hit the second over card and Willsch was drawing to the last two nines in the deck. Instead, the {2-Spades} river completed the board and that reduced the field to the last 14.

Daniil Kiselev Eliminated

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Daniil Kiselev
Daniil Kiselev

Daniil Kiselev soared into the lead late on Day 1, but his run in the €2,200 Main Event has come to an end in 14th place. "I folded the last three orbits," Kiselev said after he had shoved for 90,000 from the button and Zoltan Ban reshoved in the small blind. Action was on Anestis Anagnostidis in the big blind, who carefully counted his remaining stack. Ultimately, the Greek folded and the cards were tabled.

Daniil Kiselev: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Zoltan Ban: {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

While Kiselev took the lead on the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, the hopes of a comeback took a hit with the {K-Clubs} turn. Only a ten or a queen would avoid the elimination of the Russian, yet the {4-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Kiselev was done for the day.
