Broks Broke

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

We've just lost our first player of the day.

Mark Broks was all in for 10,425 and Martin Stepanek had made the call. Behind them, the action was on Ming-Jie Phung, the Frenchman had a bet of 2,150 in front of him and was alternating between tanking and glaring at Stepanek before opting to fold Dunja Binneweis-Ruckert who had also called the 2,150 folded as well. Phung flashed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Binneweis-Ruckert said she folded tens.

Broks: {J-Spades}{8-Spades}
Stepanek: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}

"I shoved because I only wanted to play against one person," said Broks.

The board came {4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Broks was knocked out.

Kribben Folds King-High Flush

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

On the river of a {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} board with around 2,500 already in the middle, there was suddenly an intense bit of action between Bartosz Jablonski and Stephan Kribben.

There was a bet of 4,200 in front of Kribben and Jablonski had made it 12,500. (In truth, it looked as though Jablonski had bet/three-bet the river rather than check-raising Kribben).

Kribben was not looking happy, "Nut flush?" he asked his opponent. After a couple more minutes Kribben opted to fold {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} face up but Jablonski simply slipped his cards into the muck

Heading Towards 200...

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

With numbers swelling and almost at the 200-mark, tournament staff are hopeful that they could hit 300 entries today for Day 1b. Day 1c is seen as a bit of a 'wild card' at this point but they're considering that anything over 150 for the final start day and its' turbo structure would be seen as being very successful.

Today we're expecting a bigger field as players try to beat Roman Mikus' benchmark finish of 190,500 from last night. Already over 100 players are registered with late entries and re-entries allowed until the end of level 4. There were 117 entries yesterday and 283 more will be needed between Day 1b and Day 1c for the event to make the €200,000 guarantee. The field today will be made up of new faces with a few players who busted yesterday also expected - including Team PokerStars Pro Christophe De Meulder.

Speaking of Day 1c, that begins at midnight tonight, shortly after Day 1b finishes. Day 1c will feature 15-minute levels and be extremely fast-paced lasting just two and a half hours with the end of play expected at about 2.30am. Day 1c will go 'live' on PokerNews as soon as Day 1b has been finished.

Meanwhile, Day 1b will begin at 4pm CET, follow all the action here!
