Event #1: $100 NLHE [NJCOOP Warm-Up], $25K Gtd

Day 1 Completed

"zhatka" Wins 2020 PokerStars NJCOOP Opening Event ($4,467.47)

It took just under seven hours of play for the first NJCOOP to finish out, and "zhatka" took home the lion's share of the prizepool, $4,467.47, after a deal with his heads up opponent, "Chalmisi6." Those two players were two parts of a big three at the top of the chip counts when the final table started, and they would stay near the top throughout.

It was "Chalmisi6" who would be the first to jump out to the top. First, he eliminated "nickybrunson" in a big pair preflop cooler. Then, just a few hands later, he would eliminate Mike “mmenz08816” Menzer in 6th place.

However, not long after that, "zhatka" would double up through "Chalmisi6" with pocket aces, and he wouldn't look back from there.

First, he would eliminate Sanjeev "sandman9876" Datta in 5th place, where he also happened to have pocket aces once again. From that point on, "zhatka" would score every elimination.

"Chalmisi6" started heads up play with "zhatka" at a heavy disadvantage, but he was able to score a number of double ups, before ultimately taking the lead for a bit. At that point, the two players made a deal, and form that point on, it was once again the "zhatka" show.

On the final hand, "Chalmisi6" would get his final eight big blinds in good, but a lucky seven on the river gave "zhatka" the title.

For his efforts, "zhatka" will take home $4,467.47, and the first 2020 NJCOOP title! Scroll down for a full breakdown of the final table results.

"Chalmisi6" Doubles Into the Chip Lead

Blinds: 35,000/70,000

Just about 10 minutes ago, "Chalmisi6" had less than eight big blinds. Now, he is the chip leader. Here's how he scored the latest, and by far the biggest, double up.

"zhatka" raised to 140,000, and "charlmisi6" reraised to 490,000. "zhatka" moved all in, and "Chalmisi6" snap called with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. "zhatka" was again well behind with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, and again the best hand would hold, as the board ran down ten high.

Just like that, "Chalmisi6" is in the chip lead.

"Chalmisi6" Doubles Up Again

Blinds: 30,000/60,000

"zhatka" raised it up to 120,000, and "Chalmisi6" moved all in for just under 1.3 million. "zhatka" thought for a bit before calling, and players were off to the races.

"Chalmisi6": {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
"zhatka": {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The mid pair would hold on the runout of {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and just like that, "Chalmisi6" is right back in the thick of things.

"Chalmisi6" Gets Short, Then Doubles

Blinds: 30,000/60,000

"Chalmisi6" was down to just 470,000 when he limped in first to act. "zhatka" moved all in, and "Chalmisi6" quickly called with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}. "zhatka" held {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, but the kings would hold on the {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} runout.

Despite that double up, "Chalmisi6" still has a long road to climb.

"ohhh hellooo" Eliminated in 3rd Place ($2,680.80)

Blinds: 30,000/60,000

After a raise from chip leader "zhatka" to 120,000, "ohhh hellooo" moved all in for just over a million chips. "zhatka" called with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, and he was dominating the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of "ohhh hellooo."

The flop of {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} didn't bring much help, and while the {6-Diamonds} turn brought some chop outs, the {9-Clubs} came on the river, giving "zhatka" the knockout, and getting to heads up play.
