"D-DUB1969" Wins 2020 NJCOOP Event #36: $200 NLH for $5,549
The 2020 NJCOOP Event #36: $200 NLHE [8-Max], $20K GTD is in the books after just over six hours of play. "D-DUB1969" made their way through a field of 162 entries, and agreed to a chop heads-up. Both players took a guaranteed $5,149 out of the $30,132 prize pool, and left $400 on the table, which "D-DUB1969" secured a few hands later.
"D-DUB1969" came into the final table as the second-shortest stack, but managed to quietly spin it up without being directly involved in any of the bustouts. They gained a good portion of their stack when they found the best queen against "PompYouUp" on a board with two queens out. The win adds to almost $1,400 in previous cashes during this NJCOOP.

The Day's Action
They started dealing hands at 7 p.m. ET, and registration was open for three hours. When the gates came down, 162 entries swelled the prize pool more than 50% over guarantee to $30,132. A total of 23 players would share in those prizes, and it didn't take long to figure out who they would be.
About an hour after registration ended, "mrblonde2020" was the unfortunate bubble player after getting coolered with ace-queen into ace-king. The fast pace continued, and in less than an hour, the final table was set.
Dan "AvaGray" Lupo got coolered for ninth place shortly after the final table convened, running his queens into the aces of "lady5am". That set off a cavalcade of busts that saw the field down to three ways in under 20 minutes. They played three handed for a bit longer, but it didn't take long for "lady5am" to fall in third when they got top pair in on the flop, but ran into the over pair of aces for "Cnotorious21".
That put "Cnotorious21" in the lead to start heads-up, but "D-DUB1969" quickly doubled when "Cnotorious21" bluffed a whiffed flush draw and got picked off. That evened up the stacks with "D-DUB1969" in a slight lead, and they decided to cut a deal. They left $400 on the table to play for and chopped the remaining money for $5,149 each.
It didn't take long for a cooler to finish it off. It looked like "Cnotorious21" was in for a big double when they got jacks in against sixes, but "D-DUB1969" flopped the six and never looked back to take it down for the extra $400. This is the third cash of the 2020 NJCOOP for "D-DUB1969", but after making almost $1,400 for an 8th and 19th place in previous events, this win eclipsed them both.
