2021 New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP)

Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari has done it. On Tuesday night, Sangannagari topped a field of 125 in the 2021 PokerStars New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) Event #36-H: $200 NLHE [Super Tuesday], $17.5K Gtd, earning $5,096 for his dominating performance.

Sangannagari was one of the few dozen to have been a part of the action right away in Level 1. He was knocked out once during the late registration period, Shortly after registration closed, he found a double when his queen-nine got there against the ace-jack of eventual fifth-place finisher "TrashNinja00".

He took that momentum through the bursting of the bubble, and then saw queen-nine treat him right once more after he three-bet it from the big blind and double barreled on a king-nine-four-deuce board into the king-ten of Steven "FadeOrHoldz" Madara. A nine on the river gave Sangannagari trips and put him atop the leader board, where he stayed the remainder of the tournament.

After Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro eliminated "Q8kicksass" and Dan "AvaGray" Lupo was felted by Sangannagari in quick succession to bring about the final table, "Renorick1946" entered play under one big blind and was eliminated on the first hand. Shortly thereafter, Sangannagari surpassed 1 million in chips, at which point he held more than one-third of the chips in play with eight still remaining.

The short-stacked "IGOTCRABZ_33" then bowed out in eighth before Sangannagari got back to work, winning a huge coin flip with ace-king against the pocket fours of Funaro for a pot of 750K and then extending his chip lead even further by knocking out "thekidraf04" in sixth. "thekidraf04" was second in chips at the time and got stacks in on an ace-high board with ace-king against Sangannagari's ace-jack after it flopped top two pair.

A level later, "TrashNinja00" busted in fifth and "Batzz88" fell to runner-up "Jeebus459" just a couple of hands later to bring about three-handed play, which continued for a full level before "Jeebus459" knocked out Benji "OtB_RedHeron" Felson in third place after Felson's ace-king lost a coin flip against pocket jacks. From there, Sangannagari took roughly a three-to-two chip lead into heads-up play and never looked back. In less than a level, he ground "Jeebus459" down, taking a chunk of their chips before flopping a flush and getting the rest of it against top pair, top kicker.

In Level 26 with blinds of 10,000/20,000 and an ante of 2,500, "Jeebus459" raised to 40,000 on the button and Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari defended his big blind, bringing a flop of . Sangannagari checked and then called a continuation-bet of another 40,000.

The turn came and Sangannagari checked again. "Jeebus459" fired a second barrel of 80,000 and Sangannagari check-raised to 242,500. "Jeebus459" three-bet jammed for 751,447 and Sangannagari called.

"Jeebus459" flopped top pair, top kicker, but it was drawing dead to Sangannagari's flopped flush by the time all the chips got in on the turn. The river fell as the final card of the tournament and all of the chips were sent Sangannagari's way as "Jeebus459" became the runner-up of NJCOOP Event #36-H, earning $3,876 in doing so.

Meanwhile, Sangannagari claims victory and receives the top prize of $5,096 to go along with it. A recap of the event will be posted shortly.

In Level 26 with blinds of 10,000/20,000 and an ante of 2,500, "Jeebus459" opened to 40,000 on the button and was three-bet to 147,500 by Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari in the small blind. Benji "OtB_RedHeron" Felson was in the big blind and cold four-bet jammed for 300,862 with "Jeebus459" coming over the top for a shove of their own, totaling 735,085. Sangannagari thought for about 10 seconds and then folded, letting the other two have at it.

Felson needed to hit an ace or king to stay alive and was unable to find either on the runout , ending his tournament run in third place. Meanwhile, the heads-up match between "Jeebus459" and Sangannagari has now begun with Sangannagari taking roughly 60% of the chips in play into the beginning of the battle.

In Level 24 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, action folded to "Batzz88" in the small blind and they completled. "Jeebus459" was in the big blind and jammed for 343,944. "Batzz88" called all in for just less, totaling 316,381.

In Level 24 with blinds of 7,000/14,000 and an ante of 1,750, "TrashNinja00" open-jammed for 283,346 in the hijack and action folded around to the big blind, where Benji "OtB_RedHeron" Felson called for all but 5,230 of his stack.

In Level 23 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,500, "thekidraf04" raised to 24,000 in the hijack and was three-bet to 99,000 by Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari, who was on the button. Action folded back to "thekidraf04" and they called.

The flop fell and "thekidraf04" check-called a continuation-bet of 112,500 from Sangannagari, bringing the turn . "thekidraf04" checked again and Sangannagari fired all in for his second barrel, a slight overbet to the 450K in the middle.

Faced with a decision for their remaining 530,310, "thekidraf04" called.

Sangannagari had flopped top two pair and was way ahead of the top pair, top kicker of "thekidraf04". No three outer came on the river and "thekidraf04" fell in sixth place at Sangannagari's expense, with the former earning $1,297 for their performance while the latter has increased his chip lead to nearly 2 million.

In Level 22 with blinds of 5,000/10,000 and an ante of 1,250, Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari opened the action with a raise to 30,000 in the hijack. Benji "OtB_RedHeron" Felson called in the cutoff, as did "Batzz88" in the small blind before Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro re-jammed for 342,226 in the big blind. Sangannagari re-jammed and both remaining players folded.

The two were off to the races with Funaro holding a slight edge and a shot at the chip lead with over 750K in the middle. He remained out in front through the flop , though the paired board did give counterfeit outs, but the turn gave Sangannagari kings up that remained best as the river completed the runout, ending Funaro's bid in seventh place.

A few hands prior, Benji "OtB_RedHeron" Felson doubled with pocket aces against the ace-three of chip leader Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari to get back over 300K and bring Sangannagari just below seven figures once more.

In Level 21 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, "Renorick1946" called all in for 7,362 under the gun and action folded to Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro, who pumped it up to 24,000 on the button. "thekidraf04" defended their big blind, taking heads-up action to the streets for the side pot.

Action checked through the flop and "thekidraf04" bet 34,181 on the turn , forcing a fold from Funaro to earn the side pot and have a chance at an elimination.

Hand #1: In Level 21 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro raised to 16,000 under the gun and "Q8kicksass" re-shoved for their last 28,116 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Funaro and he called.

A king on the flop left "Q8kicksass" drawing thin and another one on the turn reduced their chances to zero. The river came to finish the runout and make the hand official, eliminating them from the tournament in 11th place.

Hand #2: On the other table at the same time, action folded to Sridhar "sri100k" Sangannagari in the small blind and he open-jammed for the 139,934 effective that remained in Dan "AvaGray" Lupo's stack in the big blind. Lupo called.

Lupo needed to hold and instead saw a flop of leave him drawing incredibly thin. The turn gave him four chop outs, but he missed by one pip as the river came to leave his hand no good and result in him bubbling the final table as the 10th place finisher for the event.
