Di Nicola smiled when the 8♣ turn gave him some additional outs, but the 3♣ river was a brick to finish the heads-up match and give Ferrari the trophy.

Ferrari was swamped by a group of friends at the table as he celebrated his win, and he looked emotional as the enormity of his achievement started to sink in slightly.

He then went over to share a warm embrace with his fellow countryman Di Nicola, who battled hard for the win, but has come up just short.
