Giovanni Ventura opened to 600,000 under the gun, and received calls from Alexandru Danes on the button and Jason Barton in the small blind.
On the 8♦6♥2♥ flop, action was checked to Danes, who slid out a bet of 50,000. Barton raised to 175,000, Ventura promptly folded, and Danes followed suit.
Ramdhane Ben Maamar opened to 65,000 from the button, and Noortje Verstegen three-bet jammed for 255,000 from the big blind, with Maamar making the quick call.
Noortje Verstegen: K♦J♣
Ramdhane Ben Maamar: 3♥3♣
Verstegen needed to hit the board to survive, and Maamar flopped a set on the 7♦5♣3♦ flop, the 6♠ turn and K♣ river confirming her fate.
Hassan Sey opened to 60,000 from the button, and Ramdhane Ben Maamar defended in the big blind, in a clash between two top five stacks.
On the 8♥7♦3♥ flop, Mamaar check-called versus a bet of 105,000 from Sey.
The 5♣ turn and 6♠ river were then checked through. "I win, straight" said Mamaar, as he tabled A♥4♦, and Sey confirmed he was good as Sey sent his hand to the muck.
In a battle of the blinds, 600,000 had amassed in the middle by the river on a board of Q♣J♦7♦A♠8♥, in a hand between Jean-Vincent Lehut and Saman Ziarati.
Lehut check-called versus a bet of 335,000 from Ziarati, but was shown the bad news when Ziarati tabled K♣10♦ for the nut straight.
Giacomo Grossi was also seen exiting the tournament area from another table.

Around 725,000 was in the middle, on a completed board of A♥5♦4♣8♦6♥, in a hand between Jozef Cibicek in early position and Hassan Sey in middle position.
Cibicek check-called a bet of 500,000 from Sey, who confidently tabled 6♣6♦ for the rivered set of sixes. Cibicek could beat that however with 8♠8♣ for the turned set of eights.
A pot of around 700,000 had brewed on a completed board of Q♥10♠6♦9♥2♣, in a hand between Alexandru Danes in middle position and Julien Breuil in the big blind.
Breuil checked and Danes jammed with the covering stack, sending Breuil, who had around 1,000,000 behind, deep into the tank.
Over the course of around three minutes Breuil looked physically pained at the spot he found himself in, variously looking to the heavens, sitting back in his chair and blowing out his cheeks, and counting out his chips.
Eventually the clock was called, and even as the clock ticked to zero Breuil could not make a decision, his hand being declared dead. Danes gave no indication of what he had.
