The Final Table Action

Plesuv came into the final table with a nice lead, after scoring a massive knockout Jan "hownorez" Nakladal in 11th place. From there, Plesuv wouldn't look back, constantly putting pressure on his opponents to continue to amass a humongous chip stack.

That aggression was on perfect display in the first knockout of the final table, where Plesuv would end up five shoving with just Ace-Deuce in an effort to isolate against the small stack, "PrettyVinnie." After he scooped that pot, Plesuv amazingly held half of the chips in play, even though it was still eight handed.

With such a massive chip lead, Plesuv was content to let other stacks battle each other from there, mostly sitting on the sidelines until he got back over 100 million chips with the elimination of "K0SICE."

From that point on, Plesuv would score every elimination, a massive reason why he took home a huge portion of the bounty prizepool, $67,247 total. To put that in perspective, the next highest bounty total at the final table was just $11,334, earned by Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles.

Congratulations again to Pavel Plesuv for adding another big title to his already impressive poker resume. Thank you to everyone who followed the coverage here at Pokernews, and be on the lookout for more updates from this massive Pokerstars WCOOP Series!

"SiKCalL_A7" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($83,956)

Level 43 : 800,000/1,600,000, 200,000 ante

"SiKCalL_A7" min raised to 3,200,000, and Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv called to see the flop come down {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Plesuv checked, and "SiKCalL_A7" continued for 1,600,000. Plesuv check raised to 4,800,000, and "SiKCalL_A7" called to see the {8-Clubs} hit the turn.

Plesuv kept up the aggression with a bet of 5,412,000, and again, "SiKCalL_A7" tagged along. The {j-Spades} completed the board, and Plesuv fired one more time, 6,400,000. "SiKCalL_A7" moved all in for 25,535,332, and Plesuv thought for a bit before calling with {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a rivered pair.

It was good, as "SiKCalL_A7" showed just {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a missed draw, and they hit the rail, earning $83,956. However, Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv will take home first place, earning over $67,000 with just the bounties alone, for a combined first place prize of $144,295.

Stay tuned for a full recap of today's play.

“horvYptr” Eliminated in 3rd Place ($52,731)

Level 43 : 800,000/1,600,000, 200,000 ante

Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv raised to 3,200,000, and “horvYptr” three bet to 9,600,000 from the small blind. Plesuv put out a four bet to 17,600,000, and “horvYptr” called to see the flop come {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. They checked to Plesuv, who continued for 9,350,000. “horvYptr” called, and the {7-Hearts} came on the turn.

“horvYptr” open shoved all in for just under 31,880,602, and Plesuv called with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. His top pair was miles ahead of the pocket sixes of “horvYptr”, who was looking for a six or an eight to survive. However, the {j-Spades} came instead, and we are now heads up, with Plesuv holding a massive lead.

Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles Eliminated in 4th Place ($43,920)

Level 42 : 700,000/1,400,000, 175,000 ante

Action folded to big stack Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv in the small blind, and he moved all in. This bet was for the 21 million and change leftover for Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles in the big blind, and he would call all in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Dorneles got his chips in good again, as Plesuv showed just {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, but the flop didn't cooperate, coming down {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

The {4-Hearts} turn did mean that an ace or queen would work now, but the {8-Spades} completed the board instead. A rough ending for the Braziian, but he will be taking home nearly $44,000 for his efforts.

“K0SICE” Eliminated in 5th Place ($32,859)

Level 41 : 600,000/1,200,000, 150,000 ante

On the next hand, Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv raised to 3,600,000 from the small blind. “K0SICE” was in the big blind, and they would move all in for 21 million and change.

Plesuv would call with {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, and he was dominating the {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs} of “K0SICE." The board came down {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and the jack kicker player for Plesuv, who got all the chips he lost in the last pot, and then some.

Gerson "Gerson'GR'" Braga Eliminated in 6th Place ($19,486)

Level 41 : 600,000/1,200,000, 150,000 ante

On the very next hand, "horvYptr" moved all in from the small blind, easily having Gerson "Gerson'GR'" Braga covered in the big blind. Braga called all in with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}, slightly behind the {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of "horvYptr."

The board ran down {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and the ace high held to get play down to just five players.

"TonyGPT" Eliminated in 7th Place ($16,815)

Level 41 : 600,000/1,200,000, 150,000 ante

Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv raised to 2,400,000, and it would set off some fireworks, as short stack "TonyGPT" moved all in for 4,546,693. In the small blind, Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles would move all in for over 60 milion, and in the big blind, "horvYptr" would call all in for 22,349,897.

Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
"horvYptr": {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
"TonyGPT": {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Dorneles was in great shape to score a double knockout, but the flop was an absolute disaster for the Brazilian, coming down {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The case ten meant that "horvYptr" now held a massive lead in the hand, and while the {k-Clubs} turn gave Dorneles some more outs, the {8-Hearts} would come on the river.

"TonyGPT" bows out in seventh even after flopping top two pair, while "horvYptr" is now up to over 50 million after that lucky flop.

Matias "Maty25" Ruzzi Eliminated in 8th Place ($11,156)

Level 40 : 500,000/1,000,000, 125,000 ante

Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles raised to 2,460,000, and in the small blind, Gerson "Gerson'GR'" Braga moved all in, having his fellow Brazilian covered. In the big blind, Matias "Maty25" Ruzzi would call their short stack all in, and Dorneles would also call, creating a huge three way all in cofrontation.

Gerson "Gerson'GR'" Braga: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Luis "luisnrd" Dorneles: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Matias "Maty25" Ruzzi: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} kept Ruzzi ahead in the main pot, while Braga had taken a big lead in the side pot with his pair of sixes. However, the {k-Spades} on the turn gave Dorneles a massive lead in the hand, and the {10-Diamonds} river didn't change that.

Ruzzi will have to settle for eighth place, Braga is now the short stack, and Dorneles is suddenly second in chips.

"PrettyVinnie" Eliminated in 9th Place ($14,732)

Level 40 : 500,000/1,000,000, 125,000 ante

"PrettyVinnie" was down to less than four big blinds when they raised to 3,000,000, leaving less than a big blind behind. Next to act, Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv reraised to 5,000,000.

Two seats over, "k0SICE" would four bet it to 14,000,000. "PrettyVinnie" would call all in, but Plesuv was ready to play for it all, five bet shoving all in. "k0SICE" folded, and Plesuv was already set to scoop a nice side pot with just {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. He was ahead of the {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} held by "PrettyVinnie", who looked like they would more than triple up after the flop came down {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

The {8-Diamonds} turn changed nothing, but the {a-Hearts} on the river changed everything, giving Plesuv a better two pair, sending another massive pot his way. After that hand, Plesuv has about half the chips in play with eight players still remaining.

German "germaxi" Christiansen Eliminated in 10th Place ($9,396)

Level 39 : 400,000/800,000, 100,000 ante

After an under the gun raise from Gerson "Gerson'GR'" Braga, German "germaxi" Christiansen moved all in for 12 million and change from the small blind. In the big blind, "K0SICE" would four bet shove for 22,273,574, and that got Braga to fold.

"K0SICE" showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, and they were flipping against the Ace-King of Christiansen. For the second time in as many flips, Christiansen was left drawing to running cards after the {j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} gave his opponent top set, and once again, Christiansen would be drawing dead after the turn.

This time, however, it ended his tournament in 10th place, and with that, the final table is set. A seating chart with updated counts for all nine will be posted momentarily.
