Chen Busts Lask in Huge Preflop Action

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jimmy Chen

From the button, Dylan Lask raised to 42,000. Jimmy Chen three-bet out of the small blind to 150,000. Lask waited a few moments before announcing all in out loud. Chen got a count and confirmed that he had Lask covered by a little bit and called.

Lask turned over {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Chen had the lead with the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

The flop was good for Chen as it came {7-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}. The turn gave him the nut flush as the {3-Clubs} peeled off and the river {8-Hearts} ended Lask's tournament abruptly in 25th place and gave Chen what is likely the biggest pot of the tournament thus far.

PokerNews is at the 2019 Potomac Poker Open (PPO) to offer live updates from three tournaments, but those are just a few of the 14 events that played out at MGM National Harbor.

Another was Event #9: $370 No-Limit Hold’em, a tournament that drew 84 entrants and created a $25,200 prize pool.

That was paid out to the top nine players with Kenneth Schaefer of Lexington, Virginia coming out on top for $8,190.

It was a bit of redemption for Schaefer, who at the beginning of the 2019 PPO finished eighth in the $370 Opening Event for a career-high $12,022.

Gouindan Barrels River to Take Pot

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Rajasekar Gouindan, who has been on a tear recently, raised Jeff Esterling's bet of 60,000 to 235,000 on the turn when the board read {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Esterling put in the extra chips to call.

The river came the {4-Diamonds}. Gouindan bet 325,000 which caused Esterling to fold after a few moments to continue Gouindan's huge chip up.
