Apostol Hits the Rail

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Tyson Apostol and Eric Ethans
Tyson Apostol and Eric Ethans

Former Survivor winner Tyson Apostol has just been knocked out from the tournament, by the hands of the overwhelming chip leader; Eric Ethans.

The action started with Apostol limping under the gun, and another player limped before Eric Ethans put both players all in from the big blind. Apostol had about 100,000 chips to start the hand, and after a while he decided to call it off.

The other limper folded and the showdown in this massive pot went as following:

Ethans: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Apostol: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Ethans apologized for knocking Apostol out.

"I looked at the prizes for the first few payout spots, and I decided I didn't care much for those, so I went for it," Apostol said after getting knocked out.

Sandberg Gets Very Lucky

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Oskar Sandberg
Oskar Sandberg

Oskar Sandberg has been on an amazing run, and he now sits near the top of the counts after hitting a miracle card on the turn in a massive pot.

From the cutoff Sandberg raised to 4,700 and the player in the small blind three-bet to 15,000. Sandberg made the call and the flop brought out {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}, on which the small blind bet 20,000.

Sandberg opted to move all in for about 90,00 and he got called right away.

Sandberg: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-}{K-}

The turn brought the {J-Hearts} and Sandberg hit his set to take the lead. On the river the {4-Diamonds} hit and Sandberg raked in a massive pot.

Sandberg Ruins Lavinthal's Day

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Alex Lavinthal
Alex Lavinthal

Oskar Sandberg is having the week of his life. First the Swedish player managed to win the Survivor event, then the proposed to his girlfriend (who said yes) and right now he's sitting on a comfortable stack in the Main Event.

Alex Lavinthal didn't win an event, nor did he get married, and he also just got knocked out by Sandberg. It's safe to say Lavinthal's day got ruined by Sandberg just now, as he sent him to the rail after beating him up in two big pots.

"First he doubled through me when I hit a set of sevens but he rivered broadway," Lavinthal said.

On the last hand the player in the cutoff raised to 2,500 and Sandberg called on the button. The player in the small blind called as well, before Lavinthal moved all in for 21,100. The cutoff folded and Sandberg called right away, getting the small blind to fold.

Sandberg: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Lavinthal: {Q-}{Q-}

The board brought Sandberg two pair, and he sent a disappointed Lavinthal to the rail.

The Ethans Show Continues

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Eric Ethans
Eric Ethans

Yesterday we saw Eric Ethans run up a huge stack worth 180,200, and he was not holding back on telling everyone that he couldn't play on Sunday. Ethans played every possible hand, and today he looks to continue the same pattern. For now it's working, as Ethans just busted another player.

"Earlier he yelled, 'clock!' on a player that had only been thinking for half a second, so I think the guy was a bit mad at him," another player at the table told us about the guy that just got knocked out by Ethans.

The player in question raised to 4,800 under the gun and Ehtans just called in position, after which the flop brought {Q-}{Q-}{4-}.

"He bet 14,000 and I made it 32,000 and he just jammed," Ehtans said, as his opponent was all in for a total of 60,000.

Ethans: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-}{K-}

The turn nor river brought help for the all-in player, and Ethans added some more chips to his huge stack.

Full House for "Barstool Nate"

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Eric "Barstool Nate" Nathan

From the hijack seat, Michael Delvecchio raised to 2,500. Eric "Barstool Nate" Nathan called on the button, and everyone else folded. The flop came down {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Delvecchio bet 2,500. Nathan called, and the dealer added the {4-Spades} to the board on the turn.

Both players checked fourth street, and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. With two pair of jacks and eights on the board, Delvecchio checked. Nathan bet 10,000, and Delvecchio tank-called. Nathan showed the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for a full house, and Delvecchio mucked his hand.
