Blomberg Takes the Chip Lead After Felting Smith

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith three-bet shoved for 120,000 from the cutoff over a raise from Colton Blomberg in middle position. Blomberg called.

Andrew Smith: {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Colton Blomberg: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Smith shook his head after the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop left him searching for an ace, and the {4-Diamonds} turn and {q-Hearts} river left Blomberg with trip queens and Smith heading to the exit.

Brett Gordon
Brett Gordon

Brett Gordon was all in preflop for his last 400,000 from the cutoff, and was at risk against Daniel Hughes in the big blind.

Brett Gordon: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Daniel Hughes: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Gordon picked up a gutshot on the {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, but improved no further on the {10-Hearts} turn or {k-Spades} river to bust.

One hand later, last year's Main Event runner-up Loren Klein was busted at the same table.

Song's Singin' After Coming on Top in Three-Way All In; Young Out

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Max Young
Max Young

Alon Eldar raised to 70,000 from under the gun, and was called by Sung Song in middle position, as well as Daniel Hughes on the button. Max Young three-bet shoved for 715,000 in the big blind, Eldar four-bet shoved for 715,000, Song called off his last 570,000, and Hughes tank-folded what he claimed to be {a-}{q-}.

Sung Song: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Max Young: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Alon Eldar: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

"Let's go!" Eldar said, bouncing up and down by the table with enthusiasm. "How can I be ahead?"

Eldar's lead was short-lived, as an {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop gave Song top pair and the lead. No further help came on the {7-Diamonds} turn and {8-Clubs} river, and Song clapped his hands and said, "Let's go! Donkiest call ever! See you at the final table!" Young was eliminated on the hand, while Eldar was left with just 415,000 in chips.

Eldar Silenced by Song

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Alon Eldar
Alon Eldar

Alon Eldar jammed for 375,000 from the small blind, and Sung Song three-bet shoved in the small blind, chasing out Daniel Sisemore in the big blind.

"I'm hating you forever for the king-ten!" Eldar told Song before the cards were tabled. He was about to hate Song a bit more;

Alon Eldar: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Sung Song: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Eldar let out a gutteral scream upon seeing he had ran smack into aces, and with Aaron Knapp and his 80,000 chip stack watching from the other table, Eldar was left dead by the turn of a {9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} board, and Eldar let his frustrations vent out with another loud yell.

Eldar came back to the table back in good spirits after his vent, however, and he smiled and told the table, "A fifty-five million dollar bounty on his head!" while pointing at Song. Eldar hit the rail, while Song brought us down to the final two tables. Stay tuned for a full seat draw as the players redraw for seats.

Vanessa Kade raised to 110,000 on the button, then called a three-bet shove for 500,000 from Michael Macey in the small blind.

Michael Macey: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Vanessa Kade: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Kade's jacks were good for another knockout after a {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts} board provided no ace to Macey.

Spurlin Doubles Up Through Hughes

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Jordan Spurlin
Jordan Spurlin

Jordan Spurlin opened to 85,000 from the hijack, and Daniel Hughes called in the big blind.

Hughes check-called a 50,000 from Spurlin on a {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Hughes checked again on the {j-Hearts} turn, Spurlin bet 125,000, and Hughes raised to 400,000, getting a call from Spurlin.

Hughes led out all in on the {9-Hearts} river, having Spurlin covered. Spurlin made the call for his last 750,000.

Spurlin had the goods, turning over {q-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the full house. Hughes tabled {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and Spurlin took down the huge pot.

Vanessa Kade Eliminated in 12th Place ($5,400)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Vanessa Kade
Vanessa Kade

Jordan Spurlin raised to 110,000 from the hijack, and was called by Vanessa Kade on the button and Daniel Hughes in the big blind.

Hughes checked a {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop over to Spurlin, who bet 150,000. Kade raised to 400,000, and Hughes folded. Spurlin put a column of 100k chips in the pot to set Kade in for her last 1.8 million, and Kade snapped it off.

Vanessa Kade: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
Jordan Spurlin: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Kade's trip fours had Spurlin's tens and fours in rough shape, but Spurlin couldn't be denied, as the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn, giving him tens-full and leaving Kade looking for the case four to survive. The {7-Clubs} river bricked off, and a frustrated Kade could only say, "C'mon!" before taking her unicorn Celeste and heading to the payout desk.

Daniel Hughes Eliminated in 10th Place ($6,750)

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Daniel Hughes
Daniel Hughes

Jordan Spurlin opened to 130,000 from the hijack, Daniel Hughes went all in from the big blind, and Spurlin called.

Daniel Hughes: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Jordan Spurlin: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Board: {6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Hughes was up against a premium hand in Spurlin's pocket queens, and the flop helped both players, giving Spurlin top set but bringing in a flush draw for Hughes. The flush didn't come in, however, as the {6-Hearts} turn and {9-Diamonds} sealed the elimination.

Day 2 play has ended, and the final nine players will come back for Day 3 Monday.
