The pinnacle of Run It Up Reno IX has arrived, as Day 2 of the $600 Main Event begins today at noon at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada. A total of 123 players survived the Day 1a and Day 1b flights, and those players will come back today as the tournament begins to play down to the $66,000 first-place prize.
Play will restart today with 26:43 remaining in Level 15, with the blinds and antes at 3000/5000/5000. Players will play through 40-minute levels today, until nine players remain. Those nine players will return for the final table on Day 3 Monday, and play down to a champion. The field will take 15-minute breaks after every three levels, and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 23.
Vincent Newland comes into Day 2 as the overall chip leader, after bagging 583,000 chips on Day 1b. Following Newland in the chip counts are Jeff Newman (547,000), Jesse Sylvia (475,000), Day 1a chip leader Brett Gordon (455,000) and Alan Burgess (436,000).
Other notable names still in the hunt include Jeremy Pekarek (377,000), Khoa Tran (340,000), Max Young (337,000), Matt Stout (296,000), Vanessa Kade (234,000), Jamie Kerstetter (188,000), and Garry Gates (181,000).
This edition of the Main Event had a record turnout for the Run It Up Reno series, with a record-setting first-place prize.

Raoofi found gin on the flop, giving him the nut straight and a straight flush draw. Rabover was still plenty live with a gutshot and a bigger flush draw, and the turn gave Rabover the queen-high straight, and left Raoofi looking for the to win or a queen to chop. The river was of no consequence, and Raoofi headed to collect his winnings.
