Loren Klein Seeks Third RIU Reno Main Event Title; Vito DiStefano Leads Final Table

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Vito Distefano

Day 2 of Run It Up Reno VIII's $600 Main Event has reached its final table of nine, and leading the way with 3.61 million in chips is Vito Distefano, who cruised his way up the counts all day without much trouble.

Tim Tucker is in second with 2.465 million chips and has a Run It Up Reno Main Event title to his credit, winning $23,000 for taking down the Season 4 Main Event after a five-way chop.

Tucker found a bevy of big hands to propel him near the top, including this cooler in Level 20 (8,000/16,000/16,000), where Dan Healey raised to 35,000 from UTG, and Ty Kohler three-bet to 120,000 next to act. Tucker four-bet jammed for 1.05 million in the cutoff, and after Healey folded, Kohler snapped off his last 600,000.

Kohler: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Tucker: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

"Jesus Christ, how do I walk into them?" Kohler said. He found no help on a {7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} board, and Tucker eliminated Kohler.

Dan O'Brien (1.995 million) will be looking to add to his over $3.2 million in live tournament earnings as reported by Hendon Mob, and he made his first Run It Up Reno cash a final table appearance. Loren Klein (1.622 million) is going for his third Run It Up Reno Main Event title, after taking down titles at Run It Up Reno III ($33,970) and V ($46,300).

The rest of the final table is made up of Kevin Gerhart (2.405 million), Julio Uribe (1.4 million), Christopher Gallagher (1.235 million) Austin Roberts (790,000), and short stack Robert Valdez (405,000).

At the start of Day 2, 143 players returned to action meaning 42 of them would leave empty-handed. Some of those that were unable to get a piece of the prize pool included Jesse Sylvia, Frank Lagodich, Ryan Laplante, Arlie Shaban, Chris Moneymaker, Mark Mazza, and bubble boy Walter Parker, who flopped jacks and deuces against the flush draw of Andrew Neeme, but a diamond on the turn and a brick on the river left him one spot short of a payday.

The bustouts came quickly after the bubble burst, and some of those able to score some cash include final table bubble boy Michael Trivett (10th - $6,750), Johnnie "JohnnieVibes" Moreno (12th - $5,400), Andy Camou (14th - $4,320), Eric "TABLECAPTAINN" Wemlinger (16th - $4,320), Jim Petzing (17th - $3,455), Scott Stewart (19th - $3,455), Andrew Neeme (20th - $3,455), Vincent Newland (21st - $2,755), Steve Roselius (29th - $2,215), Adam Owen (33rd - $1,780), Ricky Guan (36th - $1,780), Jamie Kerstetter (45th - $1,460), Max Brown (59th - $1,190), DJ Fenton (71st - $1,190), Adin Cota (73rd - $970), Jason Somerville (75th - $970), Shirin Oskooi (88th - $970), Patrick Tardif (89th - $970), Ryan Schoonbaert (90th - $970), Kevin Martin (93rd - $970), and Katie Lindsay (95th - $970).

Action for tomorrow's Day 3 flight will kick off at noon, with 22:35 remaining in Level 23 (15,000/30,000/30,000), and the live stream will begin at 2:30 p.m. The PokerNews Live Reporting blog will coincide with the stream, so stay tuned then to see who will walk away with the $46,681 top prize!

Start-of-the-Day Chip Leader Done in by Quad Queens

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Patrick Truong
Patrick Truong

Andy Camou raised to 27,000 from middle position and Austin Roberts called from the button. Day 1a chip leader Patrick Truong, who started the day on the big stack, proceeded to three-bet all in for 168,000 from the big blind and Camou isolated by moving all in over the top for 777,000. Roberts got out of the way and Truong discovered the bad news.

Camou: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Truong: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

The {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop gave both players a set, but of course, Camou's was best. The {q-Hearts} turn improved him to quads and he sent Truong to the payout desk in 27th place to collect a $2,215 prize.

TABLECAPTAINN Tops Four-Way All-In Hand; Yee's Aces Cracked

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sammy Yee
Sammy Yee

Eric "TABLECAPTAINN" Wemlinger moved all in for 138,000 under the gun and Ricky "Rated GTO" Guan, who was next to act, three-bet jammed for around 190,000.

Andy Camou was to his direct left with a big stack and moved all in himself. Action then folded around to Sammy Yee in the big blind and he called off for approximately 140,000.

Yee: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Wemlinger: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Guan: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Camou: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Yee woke up with aces in what seemed like a good spot, but when the board ran out {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} it was Wemlinger quadrupling up in the main pot. Yee took a side pot of about 120,000 but dusted it off a couple of hands later.

Meanwhile, Guan took another small side pot from Camou and was left with 35,000 after the hand.

Cruel River Sends Hong Packing

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Zhang Hong
Zhang Hong

LFG Podcast co-host Jamie Kerstetter raised to 14,000 from UTG, and Zhang Hong called in the lojack. Andy Camou three-bet to 75,000 in the small blind, and after Kerstetter folded, Hong jammed for 165,000 total. Camou snapped him off.

Hong: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Camou: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Hong found a queen on the {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, but the {9-Diamonds} turn gave Camou some additional outs with a gutshot straight draw.

"Small small small!" Hong said before the river could fall, but his cries went unheard as the {10-Clubs} river gave Camou a straight and the knockout.

Walter Parker Bubbles the $600 Run It Up Reno VIII Main Event

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Walter Parker
Walter Parker

Andrew Neeme raised to 10,000 from UTG, and was called by Walter Parker in middle position, as well as the big blind.

The big blind checked a {2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop to Neeme, who jammed to put both of his opponents at risk. Parker called off his last 40,000, and the big blind folded.

Neeme: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Parker: {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Parker's two pair were out in front, but Neeme found his flush on the {k-Diamonds} turn. Parker needed a jack or deuce to avoid being the bubble boy, but the {3-Diamonds} river sent Parker home empty-handed.

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mark Mazza
Mark Mazza

Mark Mazza got his last 35,000 or so all in preflop and found himself in a bad spot against Joshua Prager.

Prager: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Mazza: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Mazza had the inferior ace but the {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop did give him a flush draw. The {j-Spades} turn added some chop outs, but the {j-Clubs} river was a brick and Mazza headed to the exit.
