RIU Reno Felt

Welcome to the fourth day of the RIU Reno VIII! Today PokerNews will be offering live updates for its second event of the series – the $200+$35 NLH Pro Bounty. This tournament features a $35K GTD and a $300 on each pro bounty.

Among those with a target on their back – or rather a bounty necklace around their neck – are Jason Somerville, Joe “Stapes” Stapleton, Fintan Hand, Arlie Shaban, Jimmy Cappucci, Stanley Wang, Patrick Tardif, Justin Kuraitis, and Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, among others.

The tournament is played with a big blind ante, 20-minute levels, and a 15,000-starting stack. Registration and re-entries will be open through the first nine (9) levels. When heads-up is reached blind levels change to 10 minutes. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 18.

Here's a look at the structure up to the dinner break:

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is focused on five events at the RIU Reno VIII, but there are plenty of side events throughout including Sunday’s 125 Superstack Supersonic, a tournament attracted 140 entrants and created a $13,580 prize pool.

Among those to make a deep run but fall short of the final table were Don McCormick (12th - $310), Dino Gerry (16th - $250), Kevin Martin (18th - $200), and Jimmy Cappucci (22nd - $200).

The final table was filled with some familiar faces including the $125 6-Max NLO8 champ Sarah Sherman and Twitch streamer and former Big Brother Canada contestant Arlie Shaban, who finished in sixth and fourth place for $690 and $1,040 respectively.

In the end, Twitch streamer and partypoker Team Online pro Patrick Tardif notched his first-ever live tournament win to capture the gold trophy and a $3,030 top prize. Tardif is known as “Egption” online and @IrEgption on Twitter.

Last Warrior Standing Drawing

The RIU Reno VIII is chock full of fun promotions. One of them is the "Last Warrior Standing" Drawing, which applies to today's tournament. Here's how it works.

To qualify for the Last Warrior Standing drawing, participants must be the last player remaining in any qualifying RIU Reno VIII tournament wearing Run It Up gear, Team RIU member gear, or Andrew Neeme gear. Qualifiers will receive entry into a drawing taking place on April 21st for their chance to win one prize package to attend Run It Up Reno in October 2019.

One (1) Last Warrior Standing Drawing entry will be awarded per specified tournament. If a qualifier achieves the feat in multiple tournaments they will receive one (1) entry per specified tournament.

The drawing will take place at or around 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21 during the first break on the Main Event Day 2. Qualifiers need not be present to win.

The prize package includes one (1) entry into the RIU Reno IX Main Event ($600) taking place in October 2019, transportation credit (up to $900), and choice of six (6) complimentary nights hotel accommodations ($1,100 value) at Peppermill Reno.

We missed the first bounty elimination but did learn some details after the fact.

Over at Table 26, pro bounty Kyle Anderson got his stack in with top set against the flush draw of Steven Nevius. The latter made his flush and collected $300 for the deed.

Anderson has the option to re-enter the tournament, but if he does there will not be another bounty.
