Gamez Survives the Bubble

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Richard Gamez open-shoved on the button for 223,000 and Timothy Votava reshoved in the small blind to isolate. The player in the big blind got out of the way.

Richard Gamez: J8 All in
Timothy Votava: AJ

The flop came 5103 with Votava's ace-jack still far out in the lead. Gamez picked up outs to a flush draw and a gutshot on the 7 turn, and got there on the 4 river to stay alive.

Yang Earns the Title of Bubble Boy

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Nao Yang opened the action with a raise from under the gun and was three-bet by Richard Gamez in the hijack to 125,000. Yang thought for a moment before making the call.

The flop came K69 and Yang moved all in for 303,000 to put himself at risk. Gamez snap called.

Nao Yang: QJ All in
Richard Gamez: KK

Gamez was in the lead with a set of kings but Yang had plenty of outs with a gutshot and a flush draw.

The turn landed the 4 and the river brought the 8 and Gamez's set of kings remained best to send Yang packing on the stone bubble.

Stephen Peppin

Action has wrapped up in Flight B of the RPT Minnesota poker debut here at Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel after almost 17 levels of play. Of the 268 runners who started the day, only 38 players will return for the Championship Day on Sunday, all of whom are already in the money.

Stephen Peppin emerged as the overwhelming chip leader of Flight B, bagging an impressive 1,226,000. The Minnesota native ascended to the top of the counts late in the day after cracking Joseph Larson’s pocket aces and never looked back. He will enter the Championship Day second in chips behind Kurt Fetzer and will look to leverage his stack in search of a big payday.

Finishing Flight B second in chips is Kevin McMahon (1,009,000), sitting with just over a million. Right behind him is Richard Gamez with 928,000 who rounds out the podium.
