Day 1b Started

Welcome to Day 1b of RunGood Poker Series Downstream

RunGood Downstream Day 1a
RunGood Downstream Day 1a

One flight is in the books at RunGood Poker Series Downstream, and that means two more remain, both of which will be played today. Each flight will be identical to Friday's Day 1a, with 12 levels playing out, each lasting 30 minutes. Breaks will be given every four levels. Each player will start with 20,000 in chips and blinds will begin at 25/50, escalating from there until players bag after 1,200/2,400/400.

Day 1a saw Joey McCaig finish with the biggest stack as he put 171,000 in the bag, and some notable names like Chris Conrad, Ray Henson, and Will Berry also survived.

Many players fired and missed yesterday, including Mike Tang, Amanda Baker, Justin Gardenhire, and former RunGood champ Ross Bybee. We expect to see them back giving it another go today. Tang is seeking a win here after coming in second last fall to champ Mark Martin, who has yet to make an appearance here at Downstream's Main Event.

Cards are scheduled to fly at noon for Day 1b, and 7 p.m. for Day 1c, so it will be a long day of poker filled with plenty of live updates.

"I Think He's Serious"

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

Rodney Spriggs bet 2,700 after an opponent checked to him on a board of {9-}{5-}{6-}{10-}, and his opponent in the small blind tossed in 10,000. Spriggs commented that his opponent must not know how he played because he'd be making the same play with seven-eight as he was with the {9-}{7-} he flashed his opponent.

"I got no idea who you are," the small blind declared. "I'm just playing my card."

"I think he's serious, I don't think he's giving up at this point."

Spriggs fired a few times on Day 1a and bricked, but he's looking to get back to the final table after taking third at Downstream Hard Rock Tulsa.

RunGood Pros Check Two Streets in Big Pot

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Bernard Lee had 1,325 in front of him in the big blind when we arrived at his table, and Jonathan Gaviao, who looked to have opened in middle position called, as did two other players. Lee bet 2,125 on the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, and Gaviao was the only caller. Both players checked the {5-Clubs}, followed by the {a-Spades}.

Lee showed down {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and took the pot with kings up.

Campanello Takes Three-Way All-In

We found three players all in at Table 20, with a short-stacked player holding {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and pushing his last 3,000 in. RunGood Pro and bracelet winner Bryan Campanello, meanwhile, was in the cutoff and at risk for 15,500 with {a-Spades}{q-Spades}. A player in between the two covered both and held {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. The {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop was a good one for Campanello as it improved him to a pair of queens and the {9-Spades} turn gave him a flush draw for even more outs. He got there on the {10-Spades} river.

Min-Raise Enough for Anderson

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

A battle of the blinds saw a big pot build after a {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} flop, with the small blind betting 1,500 and Colten Anderson calling. The small blind bet 3,000 on the {7-Clubs} and Anderson again called. On the {8-Clubs} river, the small blind fired a final bullet of 4,000, and Anderson dropped in 8,000. His opponent thought only briefly before folding.
