Dropping Fast

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 300 ante

After getting crippled by Amanda Baker, Landon Mabe would be eliminated a few hands later in unseen action. Benjamin Reason bluffed off most of his stack and then would lose the rest of his chips to Katherine Bowen. And at a third table, Bernard Lee would make a good call with {A-}{J-} and be in great position to double up against his opponent's {A-}{9-} but a nine on the river would send a frustrated Lee to the rail.

There are 42 players remaining in this flight.

Griffin Wins Massive Three Way All In

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

There was a commotion coming from Table 15 so we hurried over to see what had happened. Three players were all in and it was John Griffin emerging victorious when his {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} prevailed against the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} held by the player in Seat 8 and Mike Rick's {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Griffin had 70,100 behind, more than enough to eliminate Mike Rick, and crippling the player in Seat 8 in the process.

Griffin was up to 175,000 after the hand.

Alcorn Looking Comfortable

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Heather Alcorn
Heather Alcorn

We got to the table in time to witness Heather Alcorn making a bet of an unknown amount on the turn with the board reading {K-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{J-Spades} and Amanda Baker making the call.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Baker checked to Alcorn who moved all in for 45,500 total. This was enough to eliminate Baker as she had slightly less than 40,000 behind. Baker went deep into thought, looking over at Alcorn and studying her.

After a minute or two, Baker said "you look very uncomfortable" to Alcorn.

"Really?" was Alcorn's response.

"Yes," said Baker.

"How do I make myself look comfortable," said Alcorn with a slight laugh.

"I was totally folding before I looked at you," said Baker.

"Save it for another one," warned Alcorn.

Baker lifted her head forwards, looking at the board carefully. She gathered all of her chips and put them together into two stacks. Carefully she slid them forward.

Alcorn turned over {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for the nut flush and Baker sheepishly turned over {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for a pair of kings. "I knew I shouldn't have looked at you," Baker said, as she left the table.

Chance Fitzgerald Hits Four Outer to Stay Alive

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Chris Conrad
Chris Conrad

We didn't catch the action but all the money went in on the flop with the player in Seat 1 holding the best hand and the biggest chip stack with his {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} on a flop of {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. A short-stacked Chris Conrad had {10-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Chance Fitzgerald was bemoaning his bad luck as he had flopped top two pair with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Conrad would actually pick up some hope on the {8-Clubs} turn but it wouldn't be him doing the sucking out as the river was the {K-Clubs} to give Fitzgerald a full house and a near triple up to 95,000 in chips. Conrad was eliminated.

Mike Tang Eliminated

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Chris Drake opened the action for 6,000 and found all the action he could want as four players called him. The flop came {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and after the player in the small blind checked, Mike Tang moved all in for 41,000. Drake also moved all in and everyone else folded.

Tang turned over {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a pair of aces but his kicker was dominated as Drake held {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

"D***," muttered Tang. "Put a nine out there."

The dealer wouldn't put a nine out there, however, as the turn was the {6-Hearts} and the river was the {4-Hearts}. Drake moved to approximately 175,000 in chips with that pot.
