Malinowski Eliminated by "xMFPx"

Level 18 : 7,000/14,000, 1,750 ante

Benjamin "BC1989RF" Chalot opened the action in early position with a raise to 28,000. Action folded to the blinds, where "xMFPx" called from the small and Wiktor "Iimitless" Malinowski called from the big.

Both players in the blinds checked the {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and Chalot continued for 23,520. "xMFPx" then check-raised to 84,000 and Malinowski tanked a while before 3-betting to 180,941. Chalot opted to fold, however, "xMFPx" then re-raised enough to put Malinowski all-in for his last 302,592. The online phenom known as "limitless" called and hands were revealed.

Malinowski: {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
"xMFPx": {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

It turned out Malinowski was in terrible shape with his top-and-bottom pairs vs. "xMFPx"'s flopped set. The {4-Spades} turn and {9-Diamonds} river failed to improve Malinowski and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Chalot Drags Massive Pot to Assume Chip Lead

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded all the way around to the blinds, where Benjamin "BC1989RF" Chalot completed his blind from the small. Rui "RuiNF" Ferreira responded by raising to 55,893, which Chalot called.

The flop brought the {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Spades} and Chalot check-called a 31,791 bet from Ferreira.

A very wet {4-Spades} filled the turn, and Chalot again check-called — this time for 143,526.

The river completed the {4-Diamonds} and Chalot checked a third time. Ferreira bet 239,210 and this time Chalot check-raised to 984,000. Ferreira called and was shown {a-Spades}{6-Spades} for the nut flush, which was good enough to take down the massive pot and tournament chip lead. Ferreira was left with just 46,033.

Eibinger Busts to Burst the Bubble

Level 21 : 12,500/25,000, 3,250 ante

Action folded around to Thomas "MarToMchat" Boivin in the cutoff, who raised to 50,000. Matthias "iambest2" Eibinger then 3-bet next to act to 425,000 — leaving himself just 87,000 behind. Boivin responded by putting Eibinger all-in and Eibinger called off.

Eibinger: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Boivin: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

It was a fair fight going to the flop, but the {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} runout was no help to Eibinger and he was eliminated as the bubble boy in 64th place.

The remaining players are now guaranteed at least a $4,792 payday.

"GotADream" Encounters a Hold Em Nightmare

Level 23 : 17,500/35,000, 4,500 ante

Benjamin "BC1989RF" Chalot opened for 70,000 on the button and was met with a 3-bet from "GotADream" to 245,000 from the small blind. Just behind him, Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov cold 4-bet to 560,000 from the big. Chalot folded, but "GotADream" went back over the top for his last 1,298,000. Koliakov, who had "GotADream" covered, quickly called.

"GotADream": {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Koliakov: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

It was a classic cooler in No-Limit Hold Em. The {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board cemented "GotADream"'s fate, shipping the massive pot to Koliakov and propelling him to nearly 3.5 million chips.

Sergei Koliakov

Day one of Event SCOOP-63-H: $2,100 NLHE [8-Max, Sunday Warm-Up SE], $1M Gtd is a wrap after nine hours of play and furious action. The event drew a total of 538 runners and of those, just 27 remain. In a day that saw a plethora of notables register and bust — it was "xMFPx" who came out on top with 4,504,954 in chips (good for 112 blinds). Not far behind is Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov with 4,293,6188 chips (107 blinds).

The final prize pool ended up being $1,076,00 — just enough to cover the guarantee. Notables who entered but failed to cash include Wiktor "Iimitless" Malinowski, Jason "jakoon1985" Koon, Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle and Team PokerStars Players Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis and Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot.

The bubble burst when Matthias "iambest2" Eibinger lost a race against Thomas "MarToMchat" Boivin all-in preflop. From there, eliminations continued at fast-enough pace to jump two pay levels, with "Satosh Nakmoto" being the final bust out of the day and recipient of $7,525.11.

A key hand for Koliakov occurred when he was dealt aces against the kings of "GotADream" in a blind vs. blind battle. That hand led to a near double up late in the day and propelled Koliakov toward the top of the pack as Day 1 came to an end.

Other players to watch out for include WSOP bracelet winner Enrico "WhaTisL0v3" Camosci (58 blinds) and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski (32 blinds).

Play resumes tomorrow at 13:05 EST, where the remaining players will battle it out on the virtual felt for an eventual 1st-place prize of $191,107.98. Play will resume on level 28 with 40k/80k blinds and a 10k ante and 20-minute levels. Once the surviving players reach level 37, the length of each level will increase to 30 minutes and remain there until a champion is determined.

The PokerNews team will continue providing updates on Day 2, so stick with us as we bring you all the action.
