Roberts Over De Ciantis

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

The board read {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} when we found Carm De Ciantis and Mark Roberts heads up in a hand. De Ciantis checked and Roberts fired out a bet of 5,500. De Ciantis called to see the final community card.

The dealer burned and flipped over the {4-Spades}, pairing the board on the river. De Ciantis checked and mucked her cards after Roberts checked behind and tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Roberts dragged in the pot and now has around 65,500 in chips.

Block Climbing Back

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Rick Block, who was down as low as 10,000, is now trending upward and sits close to starting stack.

In the latest hand we saw him play, Block called a raise of 1,300 from the cutoff. The two blinds tagged along and all four players went to the flop. The flop came down {4-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and the two blinds checked to the original raiser who tapped the table as well. Block took this opportunity to fire forward 2,050. This bet prompted folds from all three of his opponents, allowing him to take down the pot.

Block, who won the $500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry event just two nights ago, is now sitting on 28,000 in chips.

More For Guindon

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Tom "Plummer" Guindon continues to rise up the leader board. Guindon is seeing a lot of flops and making hands — some marginal but good enough to win the pot.

We recently saw Guindon and five other players limp to see a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Action checked to the player on the button, who bet 2,000. The player in the big blind called, as did Guindon, and the {6-Spades} arrived on the turn. Only Guindon checked-called a bet of 4,000 from the button, and the {6-Hearts} fell on the river. Both players checked, and Guindon tabled {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the winner. He's up to around 170,000.

Pfeifer Coolered By Napierala

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We ventured over to Table 13 just in time to see Randy Pfeifer commit all of his chips preflop against Blake Napierala. The hands were turned up, and it wasn't looking good for Pfeifer.

Napierala: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Pfeifer: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The aces held up through the {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts} board and Pfeifer made his way out of the tournament area.

Update: Pfeifer re-entered and is seated at a table with D.J. MacKinnon, Erik Lemarquand, Mark Roberts, Greg Ostrander and Budway Salhab.

Przybyl Doubles

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

We picked up with the action after a flop of {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} had fallen on the felt. Steven Przybyl had checked to an opponent who fired out a bet of 4,300. When action came back to Przybyl he moved all in for 17,800 total and his opponent announced a call.

Przybyl: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Przybyl was looking for a spade or an ace and he found one of those when the {K-Spades} rolled off on the turn. Przybyl let loose a fist pump and someone from the other end of the table quickly chimed in "It's not over yet," as the turn also gave his opponent a set of kings and outs to fill up on the river.

Ultimately, Przybyl was able to hold, though, as the river was the {4-Spades}. Przybyl scooped the double and now has around 42,000 in chips.

Halat Sends One Packing

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

The flop read {8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}, and Leon Halat, who finished in 9th place in the $500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry just two days ago, was heads up with a lone opponent. Halat checked and his opponent fired a bet of 8,000. Halat flat called to see fourth street.

The {6-Clubs} dropped down on the turn and Halat tapped the table once more. His opponent moved all in for what looked to be 20,500 and Halat snapped him off.

Halat: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

"Well then," his opponent lamented as he stood. "Give me a nine!"

The deck did not oblige, as the {4-Hearts} completed the board and Halat was able to score the knockout. Halat dragged in the pot and now has 95,000 in chips.
