Steve Ma Takes Huge Chip Lead Before the Break

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Steve Ma went on a huge rush before the break and is now the overwhelming chip leader going into the final two levels of the night. Ma eliminated former leader Richard Powell with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} against {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to surpass 100,000 in chips, and has since increased his stack to 150,000.

The remaining 14 players are on a 10-minute break.

Dejager Heads Home

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Karl Dejager found a great spot to pick up {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} with his short stack, but unfortunately for him Marc Pusmucans had him crushed with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. The board ran out an uneventful {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, giving both players a flush but Pusmucans won with the ace.

Pusmucans now finds himself among the leaders again.

End of the Line for Tomassi

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Lou Tomassi pushed his shot stack all in with the {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Atif Choudhury called with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board changed nothing and Tomassi exited. We're certain we'll see Lou in another flight later in the week.

Down to One Table

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The remaining 10 players are drawing seats for the last table of Flight B. The plan is to play until the end of the level or until 12% of the field remains (seven players), whichever comes first.

Foster Cracks Jacks

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Adam Foster, who finished eighth in Event #1 late last night, just eliminated a short stack when his {7-Spades}{5-Spades} cracked pocket jacks. The {6-}{3-}{9-}{4-}{Q-} board gave Foster a straight, leaving us with nine players.

Choudhury Gets a Timely Double

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Atif Choudhury limped from middle position, Steve Ma raised to 7,000 from the small blind and Choudhury moved all in for 51,700 total. Ma went into the tank for a minute before deciding to call.

Choudhury: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Ma: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Ma was well out in front until the {9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop gave his opponent a pair. Ma still had outs to win but the {K-Spades} turn and {A-Diamonds} river secured Choudhury's double.
