Day 1e Started
Event #5 of the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam continues this morning with the fifth of six starting flights. Flight E begins at 11 a.m. ET inside the Seneca Poker Room and will be followed by the final starting flight at 6 p.m. ET. Wednesday is the final day for players to advance to Thursday's Day 2 so we're expecting big turnouts for each of last two flights.
Each player in this special event begins with 15,000 in chips and registration and re-entries will be open until the start of Level 9. Play will end at the conclusion of 12 30-minute levels or when only 12% of the field in the flight remains. Any player that survives a flight will have the option of playing another flight and taking their largest finishing stack forward to Day 2 on July 31.
On Monday, Lam Ngo set the pace by bagging 234,300 in chips at the end of flight A and he remains the overall chip leader after four flights. Only two others reached the 200K barrier out of the 84 who advanced to Day 2 so far: Jack Vaccarello (204,200) and John Stempier (201,000).
We'll be on the floor for this $50,000 guaranteed event all the way until a winner is crowned, so stay right here for up-to-the-minute coverage!
Cards are in the air for Flight E. There's a line forming at the cashier so we'll compile a notables list after players begin settling into their seats.
