Welcome back to PokerNews' coverage of the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event! After two Day 1 starting flights attracted a total of 369 entries, only 49 will return at noon ET Sunday to play down to a winner and the $47,000 top prize.

Leading the way going into Day 2 is Alex Rivera with 379,000 in chips. Rivera dominated the later stages of the Day 1a flight after hitting two huge draws; he needed two bags to hold all of his chips at the end of play. The only other player to cross 300,000 was Ray Book, but several talented players will bring healthy stacks back including 2014 WSOP bracelet winner Jonathan Dimmig and two-time Summer Slam champ Joe Ciffa.

Today's action will begin with 20 minutes remaining in Level 15 with the blinds at 2,000/4,000/500. With 49 remaining and the top 36 being paid it shouldn't take long to burst the bubble. Several players will take short stacks into the day hoping to double up early and sneak into contention.

Our Day 2 coverage begins at noon, so stay tuned for all the action from the floor of the Seneca Poker Room!

Napierala Shoves, Crosses 300K

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Blake Napierala opened to 10,000 from the cutoff and action folded to Shawn Wilmot who three-bet to 26,000 from the big blind. Napierala called.

The flop rolled out {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Wilmot led our for 31,000. Napierela thought for a minute before cutting out 31,000 from his stack. As he motioned to toss the 31,000 into the pot he announced all in, and Wilmot quickly surrendered to give Napierala the pot.

Dimmig Dusted

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jonathan Dimmig began the day well above the average stack with 213,500 but all of those chips quickly spread around Table 6. The last of them went to Buck Ramsay, who opened to 8,500 from middle position and then called Dimmig's 60,000-chip shove.

Ramsay: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Dimmig: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The flop came down {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to give Ramsay two pair and the pot.

Shawn Wilmot was left with only 5,000 in chips after losing a big flip with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} to {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. He was all in from the big blind on the next hand and woke up with the {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}, but unfortunately Vince Palma had the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The jacks came up short this time and Wilmot exited short of the money.
