Alba Makes Quads; Busts Two

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Peter Alba
Peter Alba

Peter Alba got in preflop three ways with the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}, having a player on the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and another on the {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} both covered.

The {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop gave the queens a set. The {j-Diamonds} turn made Alba trips , but the queens filled up.

In the end, the {j-Clubs} river came down, making Alba made quads, felting both the shorter stacks and pushing him over 400,000.

O'Connor Leads After Fleecing [Removed:340]; Bubble Busts

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Geoff O'Connor
Geoff O'Connor

We picked up the action on a {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop with Geoffrey O'Connor and David Wiles checking to Joseph [Removed:340].

[Removed:340] bet 20,000, O'Connor raised to 56,000 and after Wiles folded, [Removed:340] made the call. The turn came the {8-Diamonds} and O'Connor led for 60,000. [Removed:340] called and the river came the {6-Diamonds}. O'Conner led again for 77,000 and [Removed:340] called, mucking when O'Connor showed the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

As he moved into the lead, the bubble popped with a player who did not want to be identified running queens into aces and failing to find a miracle.

With that the remaining field is in the money and on a 10-minute break.

The Gras Is Always Greener

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Chris Gras
Chris Gras

A wild ride for local cash specialist Chris Gras now sees him on 310,000 and among the leaders.

It started yesterday when he got down to just 4,300 in the late levels getting aces cracked. He quickly picked up aces again to double and found a way to come back and bag 77,000.

He started today doubling with tens over big slick, then used big slick himself to win a 280,000-chip flip against Yong Wolfer's jacks.

Gras is now deep, on a heater and a serious contender.

The Final Day of the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic $200 NLH Starts Now!

2015 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event
2015 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event

A champion will be crowned in the $200 No-Limit Hold'em $50,000 Guaranteed Event #1 at the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic today.

A total of 90 players will enter the Niagara Falls Poker Room at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, just a stone's throw from the famous falls, and by the time things are said and done, just one will walk away $22,447 richer and a 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic title holder.

But first, there's a little bit of business, as players will have to carefully navigate their way past the 54-player money bubble and several pay jumps before reaching the final table, where the lion's share of the $96,738 prize pool awaits.

After four starting flights over the past two days, Day 1a chip leader Michael Davis and his 342,000-chip stack sit well above the rest of the field. In fact, no other player is even over the 300,000 mark, but names like Luis Ortis, David Wiles, Peter Alba, Kevin Reyes, and Brian Bowen should have a say in things moving forward as the only ones over 200,000.

Plus, there's a group of talented locals including [Removed:339], Alex Visbisky, Nicholas Goetz, Mark Roberts, Yong Wolfer, John Abraham, Todd Saffron, Rick Block and Nick Walker, all above the six-figure mark and champing at the bit to get going in the concourse outside the poker room right now.

Play will kick off at 11 a.m. local time with blinds at 1,500/3,000, a 400-chip ante. The length of today's levels increase to 40 minutes, leaving the tournament with enough play that it's really anybody's ball game right now.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be inside the ropes from start to finish today, capturing all the action and feeding it to you in palatable live update form for your reading pleasure. Just sit back and enjoy as the first event on the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic schedule plays down to a winner, right here, right now.
