Of Biblical Proportions

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Local rounder John Abraham is making a bit of a run. He recently made a min-raise pre-flop and found a willing caller in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs} and after a check, Abraham made it 1,000. The big blind fired back with a min-raise of his own making it 2,000 and Abraham promptly shoved. The big blind called with {a-}{k-} but Abraham had flopped two pair holding {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

It held on the {9-Spades}{7-Clubs} run out and Abraham collected another soul on the way to a 40k+ stack.

Riding The Wave

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Grimsby, Ontario's Peter DeSantis busted his first bullet early and has had an exciting level working his second starting stack.

He got it up over 33,000 before losing with queens against {a-}{10-}, {a-}{k-} against {a-}{q-} and {a-}{j-} versus {a-}{9-}.

Down to 4,000 in chips he decided to stop getting it in good and rode {j-}{3-} and {10-}{4-} back up to 27,000.

Like A Boss

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Carol Leonardi
Carol Leonardi

Carol Leonardi suddenly finds herself nearing the top of the chip counts after a gutsy call.

She was among several callers of an 1,800-chip open, but when one initial limper shipped it in for some 6,000 more, she was the only one with the stones to make the call.

Her {a-}{j-} was in good shape versus her opponent's {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and she managed to make trip jacks just for good measure.

Anthony Gugino
Anthony Gugino

Anthony Gugino has battled his way into the chip lead here in the opening event at Seneca Niagara with just one level of re-entry remaining.

He caught a couple players chasing flushes and managed to make a set of fours on the river in another big pot to vault above 70,000 in chips.

Doubting Thomas

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Adam Suraf had built himself a contending stack over the first few levels of play but just messed with the ever-dangerous Travell Thomas to give a little back.

The hand began with a Thomas raise to 1,700 and Suraf defending his big blind with a call. The flop came {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and after a Suraf check, Thomas kept his foot on the gas, making it 1,800.

Suraf called, but checked again when the straightening {10-Clubs} turn was revealed. Thomas took very little time in firing out 3,000 and Suraf was forced to fold.

Things went South in a big hurry for two-time WSOPC ring winner Travell Thomas.

First he ran into queens with less than stellar holdings and after finding an ace to double up his short stack once, he ran into an ace with {q-}{4-} to end his day.
