The Right Stuff

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Cameron Bartolotta
Cameron Bartolotta

Cameron Bartolotta found himself on the right end of a massive cooler moments ago.

Matt Geen made it 3,500, Bartolotta fired back with a raise to 8,000, Geen four-bet, making it 20,000 and Bartolotta pushed in for some 21,000 more.

Geen made the call with two kings, but Bartolotta had {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

To add insult to injury for Geen, Bartolotta even managed to make quads on the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} run out.

The Equalizer

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Pat Tighe
Pat Tighe

Pat Tighe was the recipient of Jerry Calvaneso's stack when Calvaneso shoved tens into his aces.

Tighe shot up over the 100,000-chip mark and into a spot among the leaders before giving a little back moments ago.

He joined a chorus of callers of a 3,000 open, but was the only one to call the opener's similar sized c-bet on the {k-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. The aggressor checked the {7-Diamonds} turn, but was waiting in the weeds with a check-raise when Tighe bet 11,000, clicking it back to 22,000.

Tighe folded keeping his stack around the six-figure mark.

The Ride Continues

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Jimmy Thomson
Jimmy Thomson

Jimmy Thomson's wild ride is continuing to swing upwards.

He managed to win a 10,000 pot without making a pair, getting paid off with {a-}{q-} versus {a-}{8-}, then rode {k-}{k-} to an uncontested win to grab a few more chips.

He now finds himself at the top of the early chip count board once again.

Joseph's Single-Color Dream Hand

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Joseph Elia
Joseph Elia

Joseph Elia just jumped into the chip lead getting the best of it in a three-way limped pot pre-flop to bust two players.

After the {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop the action really took off as the big blind made it 2,000, Elia bumped it to 5,000 and the third player in the hand, Rob Davis, made it 8,000.

That's when the big blind shoved, Elia called and so did Davis. It was {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} for the big blind, {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for Davis and Elia holding {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the second-nut flush.

Needing to fade another club, and in particular the {9-Clubs}, he managed to get it done and had both opponent's covered.

Mike Shavensky

He also hit a king with ace-king to drag one of a number of small early pots, helping his stack grow exponentially.

Heading into the day's sixth level he has almost tripled his starting chips and is among the early leaders.

Kristan Mackiewicz is off to a rather good start here today.

The Derby, NY native flopped the nut flush holding {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and was lucky enough to have one opponent in front push all in with pocket tens.

Mandy Smith

Mandy Smith says he's getting hit by the deck and ace-king is running hot.

Now matter how you slice it, she's stacking it, having almost tripled her starting stack over the first few levels of play.

At first glance around the room Smith appears to be the early chip leader.

Big Slick Swings, Misses

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Jeff Kandefer
Jeff Kandefer

Jeff Kandefer made it 150 from the button and after the small blind called, Peter DeSantis bumped it up to 725 from the big blind.

Both players called and the flop rolled out {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. DeSantis continued for 1,225, but Kandefer fired back with a raise to 2,500. The small blind folded, but DeSantis called.

The turn brought the {q-Hearts} and a check from DeSantis. Kandefer made it 3,000 and DeSantis called again. The action heated up even more on the {8-Hearts} river, as DeSantis made a rather large 8,000-chip bet. Kandefer called and when DeSantis showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, he turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, dragging the pot with a flopped set.
