Navas Moves Ahead

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Rodolfo Navas
Rodolfo Navas

Rodolfo Navas, who finished runner-up in the big $50,000 Guaranteed $200 No-Limit Hold'em event at the front end of the series for $12,988, has already begun to spin up a stack here.

He flopped top-top with big slick on a king-high board, found a third king on the river, and a player willing to give up all his chips with queens. As a result, Navas is now among the early leaders, heading into the first break of the day.

Moore Has More

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Debbie Moore
Debbie Moore

Debbie Moore has moved into the chip lead into the flight's fourth level thanks to one big three-way all-in hand.

All the money went in on the river of a {q-}{7-}{10-}{9-}{j-} board with one player holding the {a-}{a-}, another on the {q-}{j-} and Moore with the {10-}{10-}.

Moore's set held against two pair and cracked aces to give her a 74,000-chip stack and the lead.

Another One Falls To Dellaria

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Frank Dellaria got all of one players chips in the middle holding a set of sevens versus his straight flush draw.

A fourth seven on the river made him quads, and as he claimed another victim, Dellaria moved into a dead heat with Debbie Moore for the Level 4 lead.

Napierala Chimes In

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Blake Napierala
Blake Napierala

To no one's surprise, Seneca Niagara run-good king Blake Napierala has twice the starting stack already, and a spot near the top of the early leaderboard.

Napierala told PokerNews it has been a grind today, as he's earned the double up through a series of small pots, rather than any big-time all-in confrontations.

Can't Crack Collson

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Brett Collson
Brett Collson

There was limp under the gun and former PokerNews Managing Editor turned iBus Media Sports Editor-in-Chief Brett Collson made it 1,100.

There were four callers, including Marcy Jo Phillips, going to a nine-high flop. Collson continued for 3,500 and three players called.

Collson checked to Phillips on a {j-} turn and she shoved for 16,000. Collson was the only caller with two aces, and they were good versus her {k-Clubs}{j-}. The river bricked, Phillips said goodbye, and Collson took a spot among the early leaders.

The Kurtis Boutelle Comeback

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Kurtis Boutelle
Kurtis Boutelle

Kurtis Boutelle is writing quite a comeback story here in the Main Event.

Down to 3,700 in the first few levels after flopping a flush and losing to a runner-runner full house, the 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event champ and 2016 Summer Slam $1,000 Deep Stack High Roller winner, now has a six-figure stack, and the chip lead, nearing the end of Level 5.

The hand that saw him rise to the top started with four players going to a {10-}{10-}{Q-Spades} flop, but the action really heated up when the {A-Spades} turned and all four decided to get it all in. Two players had {k-}{j-} for the straight, a third had a spade flush draw, and Boutelle had them all nutted, holding {a-}{a-} for the full house.

The flush even came on the river, but it was too little, too late. Boutelle dragged the six-figure pot and moved into the lead.
