They're down to 30 players at three tables now.

Jeffrey Hobrecker is one of them, although a Super Big Gulp sized water now sits where he once did and Hobrecker himself hasn't been seen in 40 minutes. His stack is blinding away.

Should 14 more go broke before the end of the next level, they will stop play for the night. If not, they'll stop the clock with 10 minutes left in Level 14 and draw for a number of hands to play before bagging and tagging.

Clark's Dream Dashed

Jason Clark had Jeff Ferenc right where he wanted him, all in on a six-high flop for 160,000 holding aces over tens.

Unfortunately for Clark, a ten on the river made Ferenc a boat and he sailed away in it with the 160,000. Clark still has 50,000 with which he can rebuild, but a dream-come-true scenario that would have given him a great chance to bag over 200,000 was just demolished.

They paused the clock, drew a five and will play that many more hands before bagging and tagging for the night.

In the meantime, Joe Palumbo has made things interesting at the top of the counts running like a hero and winning pots with everything from aces to rags.

Dave Battaglia is right there with him, after stealing Jeffery Hobrecker's blinds for the past two hours.

Hobrecker's actually back now and he's since doubled. It appears he may bag and Battaglia has stopped picking on his blinds for now.

Joe Palumbo Leads 20 Second Flight Survivors

The second of four starting flights for the 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam $200 No-Limit Hold'em drew 131 entries Friday.

When added to the 88 from the early flight, the event is now well on it's way to surpassing the $50,000 guarantee with 219 entries total, and two flights to come Saturday.

They played the full 14 levels in the night flight and some 20 players survived. That makes it 31 through to Sunday's Day 2 so far.

Tonight, Joe Palumbo grabbed the lead after a late heater, with barely more than Geoff Ferenc. They'll both take a little under 190,000 into the play down to a champion Sunday. Mark Roberts retains the overall lead, coming out of the first flight with over 300,000.

PokerNews' Summer Slam coverage will continue with the third starting flight in this $200 No-Limit Hold'em reentry event set for 10 a.m. local time Saturday.
