Day 1c Started

Day 1c of the $200,000 Guaranteed Summer Slam 2018 Main Event Gets Underway at 11 a.m.

The third and final flight of the $200,000 guaranteed Summer Slam 2018 Main Event headlines the Saturday action at the Seneca Niagara poker room. Day 1c kicks off at 11 a.m. with 15 40-minute levels on the agenda.

Through the first two flights, a total of 263 entries have been received. The prize pool currently sits at $140,310 and just 49 players have made it through to Day 2 with their sights set on a slice of the big money.

Players will start with 30,000 tournament chips and blinds will increase every 40 minutes. Registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 11 with each Day 1 flight playing 15 levels or until the field is reduced to 12%. Players may play in any flight but only their largest stack will carry over into Day 2.

Former champions of the event include Blake Napierala (2017), Russ Campanella (2016), William Liang (2015), and Buck Ramsay (2014). Napierala and Ramsay have already bagged a healthy stack and will look to repeat on Sunday.

Murawa Calls on the River

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Scott Murawa opened to 300 in the cutoff and the player in the big blind defended to bring a {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. Murawa continued for 300 and the big blind check-called.

The {k-Clubs} hit the turn and both players checked to see the {7-Spades} on the river. The big blind fired 700 and Murawa called. The big blind tabled the {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} which Murawa beat with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Damick Up a Stack Early

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Chris Damick's stack caught our eye as we passed the table. According to Damick "he got very lucky." Damick flopped bottom two pair and against a nut-flush draw and all the chips went in. Damick's opponent even picked up a straight draw on the turn but the river bricked and Damick collected a sizeable pot early on.
