Four ways to the 7♦6♣5♣ flop, Nahum Lum was all-in for a short stack of around 11,000 and Stephen Courtney raised to 28,000. Paul Mantzios called and Damon Fine folded. The A♣ on the turn was checked by the two active players and the 4♥ river brought a four-card straight on the board as well.

Courtney now bet 35,000 and Mantzios asked for the bet sizing before declaring "call".

Courtney tabled K♣10♣ for the nut flush and Mantzios mucked Q♦Q♥, Lum was eliminated with the J♦8♦.

Cliton Taliwanth opened and Stephen Courtney then three-bet to 5,500 on the button. Warren Zackey four-bet jammed in the small blind and forced out all opponents.

One hand later, Courtney peeled a raise to 6,000 by Jan van der Westhuizen in the small blind and called a continuation bet worth 12,000 on the 4♥3♦2♠ flop. After the 4♦ turn, van der Westhuizen pushed for just 8,100 and Courtney sigh-called, seemingly knowing he only had a few outs.

Nic Ioannoy bagged up nearly six starting stacks last night but entered Day 1c in an attempt to run up even more chips or have some fun splashing around. The first of the preflop all-ins saw him at risk against Damon Fine for a big portion of the starting stack.

The board ran out 8♠7♦5♠6♠K♠ and Ioanniy doubled to leave Fine short.

Fine then jammed for 4,500 soon after and Peter Smith called. Ioannoy jammed behind for 60,300 and Smith folded after getting a count.

SM squeezed to 2,600 on the button and received no fewer than three callers before they checked the J♣4♣3♣ flop. On the 9♦ turn, Vishal Ghoorbin checked in the small blind and the big blind bet 5,500. Another opponent in early position called and SM then raised to 16,000.

Ghoorbin check-jammed and that forced out the first two opponents pretty quickly. SM went into a brief tank and then asked if Ghoorbin had a flush before he folded. Ghoorbin first flashed the A♣ before he also revealed the A♠ as well.

Two Starting Days Remain in the 2024 SunBet Poker Tour Time Square Main Event

Two starting days have been completed and two remain in the 2024 SunBet Poker Tour Time Square Main Event at the Time Square Casino on the outskirts of Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. So far, an overall field of 178 entries has emerged and 28 players bagged up chips for Day 2 on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

The marquee Main Event comes with a buy-in of ZAR15,000 (~$790) and the tournament features a ZAR5,000,000 (~$263,400) guarantee, which requires some 400 total entries. It is expected to be a busy day in the Time Square Casino as the Main Event flights are the only tournament scheduled for today. Yesterday's satellite brought in eleven tickets and many poker players from nearby are expected to make the trip for the upcoming weekend.

There are two starting days today with Day 1c slated to kick off one hour earlier than the previous two regular flights at 11 a.m. local time. The level duration will once more be 50 minutes throughout with a maximum of 15 levels scheduled or down to the top 15% of the field, whichever of the two comes first.

All players receive 40,000 in chips and the late registration and re-entry period is open for the first ten levels. By the end of it, the turbo heat 1d is also underway as of 8 p.m. local time with 30-minute levels during the registration period and 15 minute levels thereafter.

As of the first break on Day 1c, the live stream will pick up the action and will be hosted on a security delay of 30 minutes on the Monster Jam Poker Tour Twitch and YouTube channels.

The PokerNews live updates will focus on Day 1c and chip counts as well as a recap of the final two flights will be provided at the end of the night, along with the Day 2 redraw.
