Wells Take a Flip with Rodriguez

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Adam Wells
Adam Wells

Pedro Rodriguez raised from the hijack, Adam Wells three-bet the small blind, and Rodriguez pushed. Wells called for less, having 42,100 and the two turned over their cards.

Wells had two jacks versus the big slick of Rodriguez. The board rolled out {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and johnnies held on for the pot, shipping a double over to Wells.

Alvarado Receives Early Birthday Present

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ricardo Alvarado
Ricardo Alvarado

Ricardo Alvarado opened to 1,400 in middle position, and Peter Kaemmerlen, Frank Sill, and Max Hovenden all called. Brian Lamkin looked down at his hand from the big blind and elected to three-bet, making it 5,700.

Alvarado decided a four-bet was in order, putting in 13,500. The action folded to Lamkin who called to see the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop where he led out with an 11,000 bet.

The bet turned into a raise when Alvarado doubled it to 22,000. Lamkin called and the {k-Spades} peeled off on the turn. Lamkin tapped his turn and a quick shove came from Alvarado.

Lamkin hit the time-bank button for over five minutes before coming to a decision. He called his 19,000 stack into the pot and held {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs} in his hand.

The hand was over when Alvarado tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for a three cowboys. An insignificant {9-Spades} completed the board and Lamkin stormed off, leaving all of his chips for Alvarado to stack.

Little Sleep Needed for Wang to Stack Chips

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Bin Weng started the day off poorly but has really gained traction during the last level. The {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Spades} board was face-up on the felt and Benjamin Thomas was all in with pocket kings.

Weng had {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} in front of him for the straight and more than enough to pull in the pot before the break. Thomas was eliminated but late registration is still open until the start of Level 7.

Chips are Flying on Table 29

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Jacob Ferro
Jacob Ferro

The action picked up on a {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop with the action checked to Eric Afriat who bet 3,300. Two folds made it Jacob Ferro's action, he elected to call and see the {3-Clubs} turn.

A quick tap by Ferro was met with a quick bet of 8,500 and Ferro instantly check-raised for a total of 20,400. Afriet took a moment but, he called and the {k-Clubs} fell.

Ferro threw in 25,000 after the third club hit the board. Afriet took several minutes before he declined and slowly pushed his hand into the muck.

The field now has a new leader heading into the break.
