The first two starting flights were completed yesterday in Event #4: $400 NLH $500,000 Guaranteed, having a total of 318 entry slips sold with 39 booking their ticket onto Day 2. Leading the way thus far is David Ashkenasi who bagged 379,000 in the Day 1a flight.

There are still four more flights to add to those numbers and two are on the schedule today, starting with Day 1c at 11 a.m. here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas. All runners will start the day with 20,000 in chips and the blind will be 100/100 at 30-minute intervals.

Late registration will remain open until the start of Level 9, with unlimited re-entries during that time. Any player can bag more than once during the Day 1 portion of this event, taking their highest-valued stack forward onto Day 2, as well as receiving a $600 bag bonus for each additional stack they have successfully advanced.

The field size for the later flights is supposed to increase but the day will still end once the flight reaches 12% and all will then bag up for Day 2 which will begin on Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m.

As always, the PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing all of the updates, so stay tuned as the action unfolds.

Singleterry Leaves Ray Short

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The completed board showed {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and there were around 8,500 chips in the pot.

Isaiah Singleterry bet 3,500 on the four-club community and Jeffrey Ray called.

Singleterry tabled {k-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a rivered flush and Ray threw over {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a flopped flush that couldn't hold on, leaving him short.

Gardner Finds Early Double with Cowboys

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Christos Georgakis checked the {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board to Robert Gardner who shoved 12,200 into the middle of a pot that already was around 10,000. Georgakis hesitated but in the end, he called and they turned over their hands.

Georgakis showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for an overpair to the board but was one-pipped by Gardner's {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The {2-Diamonds} river cemented it for Gardner, sending him a double here on the second blind level.
