Stevens Plummets, Bubbles Final Day

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Richard Stevens was sitting near the top for the better part of the day but Zachary Vuong threw a wrench in his plans. The turned board showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and there were around 230,000 chips in the pot when Vuong pushed his last 165,000 into the middle.

Stevens thought for several minutes but ultimately, he elected to call and turned over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. His overpair was not enough when Vuong showed {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and the {j-Clubs} river was of no help.

The hand left Stevens with just 42,000 and a few hands later he shoved an {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop with {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. John Clancy called with his {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} filled the board, shipping the chips to Clancy and Stevens claimed the title of bubble boy in the process.
