Eyster Eliminated; Chrisp Triples

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dave Kohnke opened for 11,000 from middle position only to have Kevin Eyster three-bet all in for roughly 100,000. Max Chrisp then called off for 35,000 from the small blind, and Kohnke called to put both players at risk.

Kohnke: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Chrisp: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Eyster: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Everyone held a pocket pair, but Kohnke's was best, at least until the flop came down {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Chrisp flopped a full house, which held for the triple after the {4-Diamonds} appeared on the turn followed by the {4-Spades} on the river. Meanwhile, Kohnke took down the side pot to send Eyster to the rail.

Devo Takes a Big Hit

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We're not sure how the preflop action unfolded, but we do know Sylvain Cote got his stack of 138,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Bryan Devonshire.

Devonshire: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Cote: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Devonshire was ahead, but Cote took the lead on the {7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. Neither the {5-Spades} turn nor {2-Hearts} river helped Devonshire, and he sent nearly two-thirds of his stack across the table.

Fielder Dispatched By the Made Millionaire

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Adrian Buckley
Adrian Buckley

Despite an early double, Jeff Fielder, who began the day as the short stack, will not be making it to Level 18.

In one of the last hands of the level, Fielder shoved all in for 47,000 from the hijack. Adrian Buckley, who won the 2015 WSOP Millionaire Maker event this past summer, then moved all in from the small blind and drove Ben Keeline from the big.

Buckley: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Fielder: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Fielder was behind, but drawing to two live cards. The {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop was disaster for Fielder as Buckley made a pair. The {5-Diamonds} turn left Fielder drawing dead, and he wished the table good luck as the dealer put out the meaningless {4-Spades} on the river.

Meanwhile, Tim Heminger has also been eliminated from the tournament.

Devo Done and Dusted

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We missed the elimination of Bryan Devonshire, but we learned after the fact he got his short stack all in preflop holding {q-}{8-} against the {k-}{j-} of Robert Schneegas. Devonshire failed to improve, and his MSPT Golden Gates Casino Main Event run came to a sudden end.

Defending Champ Sends Chrisp to the Rail

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Kane Lai
Kane Lai

Action folded to Max Chrisp on the cutoff and he raised to 17,000. Kane Lai, who won this very event back in March, then three-bet to 37,000 from the button, both blinds folded, and Chrisp called, leaving himself just 35,000 behind.

When the flop came down {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, Chrisp moved all in and Lai quickly called.

Lai: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Chrisp: {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Both players had flopped a pair, but Lai's was best. Chrisp needed a third jack to stay alive, but it didn't come as the {4-Hearts} appeared on the turn followed by the {K-Spades} on the river.

Keeline's Date with an Eight Falls Through

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ben Keeline opened for 14,000 under the gun only to have Mitchell Lekarczyk three-bet jam for 111,500 from late position. Action folded back to Keeline, and he thought about it for a bit before making the call.

Keeline: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Lekarczyk: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Keeline was looking for an eight to dispatch Lekarczyk, but it never came as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Givens Spikes the Turn to Eliminate Ellis

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With around 50,000 in the pot and a flop of {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Chris Ellis moved all in for 71,000 from the big blind and the under-the-gun player folded. William Givens then called from the cutoff and discovered the bad news.

Ellis: {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Givens: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}

Both players had flopped top pair, but Givens had kicker problems. Much to the dismay for Ellis, the {7-Clubs} spiked on the turn to pair Givens' kicker. The {9-Spades} river was no help to Ellis, and he collected his things before heading for the door.
