Mike Hassab opened for 750 from early position and Jim Morrison — yes, that's his real name — called from middle position. Sean Munjal came along from the hijack, and Gary Germann called from the button to make it four-way action to the flop.
Three checks saw Munjal bet 2,400, only Morrison called, and the peeled off on the turn. Morrison checked and then snap-folded when Munjal moved all in for 13,175.
After the hand, Jim Morrison told us the story about him and his best friend in high school, who was named James Bond.
"I graduated high school in 1969, so you can imagine, we were pretty popular with the girl," said Morrison.

We missed the action unfold, but we do know fireworks flew between three players on a flop. A short stacked player was all in holding the , while Munjal had shipped with . Morrison, who had both covered, put them at risk holding two pair with the .
The turn was of no consequence, but the river was. The short stack went runner-runner to counterfeit Morrison and triple up. However, Morrison still profited off the side pot and the elimination of Munjal.

Five players each put in 700 preflop and saw a flop of . Action checked to David Gutfreund in the cutoff, and he bet 1,625. Three of his opponents called, including Phil Mader in the blind, and the appeared on the turn.
Mader led out for 3,600, only Gutfreund called, and the completed the board on the river. Mader moved all in for his last 5,300, and Gutfreund tanked for a solid two minutes before calling with the . Unfortunately for him, his two pair was no good as Mader had turned trips with the .
In the very next hand, the under-the-gun player opened for 700 and Gutfreund called from the hijack. When the flop came down , the under-the-gun player continued for 700 but folded when Gutfreund shoved all in for 4,775.

Tyler Corbett raised to 1,000 under the gun and action folded around to William Black in the big blind. He opted to defend, both players checked the flop, and the peeled off on the turn. Black bet 1,625, Corbett called, and the completed the board on the river. Black bet again, this time 4,675, and Corbett called only to muck when Black rolled over the for flopped trips.
Black proceeded to win the next few hands, including one where he made fives full of sevens and got paid off for 15,000 by Corbett on the river.
"You run like that McKeehen guy," a lady at the table said.
"I'd say more like Jamie Gold," Black said with a big smile.

We noticed Kevin "Phwap" Boudreau, who finished fourth in this event one year ago, was no longer at his table. A quick check with the players confirmed he'd been eliminated after getting his stack all in preflop holding and ahead of Griffin Malatino's .
However, a king spiked and just like that Boudreau was eliminated from the tournament for a second time on Day 1b. Whether or not he wants to fire again remains to be seen.
