Heckathorn is Ready To Go Home Right Now

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Gerald Heckathorn Working His Magic
Gerald Heckathorn Working His Magic

John Kurfman and Gerald Heckathorn were heads up looking at a board of {6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. They both checked the flop.

Heckathorn shoved all in for 505,000 and Kurfman was in the tank.

"You could have just about anything right here," said Kurfman.

"I know," said Heckathorn.

"The stone-cold nuts," questioned Kurfman.

"Oh, so you don't have the stone cold nuts?" Heckathorn replied.

"This might be the world's dumbest fold," Kurfman said, flipping his cards one on top of the other.

"Don't do it then. If it feels right then do it, if it don't, then don't," Heckathorn advised.

Kurfman folded and Heckathorn turned over {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and laid it on the table.

"I like the way you play, you play just like me," said Heckathorn as he collected the pot.

John Kurfman Doubles Up, Heckathorn Left With Scraps

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Greg Seif opened for 125,000 from the cutoff on a hand that would see John Kurfman doubled up against Gerald Heckathorn.

Kurfman shoved all in for 350,000 from the button over Seif's raise and Heckathorn reraised all in over the top of that for 475,000. Sief decided to fold and showed {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Kurfman showed the "Ho-Chunk nuts" {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Heckathorn had {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

The flop made Seif cringe when it came {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, which would have given him the nut flush. The turn and the river came {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Seif thought of what could have been while Kurfman collected the pot.

Gerald Heckathorn Eliminated in 6th Place ($17,767)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Gerald Heckathorn - 6th
Gerald Heckathorn - 6th

Gerald Heckathorn, easily the most entertaining player at the final table has been eliminated. After doubling up John Kurfman, Heckathorn was left with just 105,000 when he shoved under-the-gun into Kurfman's big blind.

It folded around to Kurfman.

"I guess I won't even look," he said and called showing {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

Heckathorn had {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and was at risk if Kurfman could catch up. The flop came {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

"Two more hearts," Heckathorn said.

The table laughed and insisted he wanted no more hearts. The turn was the {9-Clubs}.

"No more hearts," said Heckathorn.

The river wasn't a heart but the {5-Spades} was enough to send Heckathorn home in 6th place, giving Kurfman a pair of fives and the pot.

Greg Seif Eliminated in 5th Place ($21,613)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Greg Seif - 5th
Greg Seif - 5th

Greg Seif has been fighting all night, battling from short stack to okay, then back again. It looked like Seif was going to double up again, until a nasty river card.

The action folded to Marius Toderici who made it 185,000 from the cutoff. Ryan Perez and John Hayes folded. Seif had {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Toderici had {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

"Okay, I have to call ya," said Seif, putting all his chips in.

However, Seif had a little more than 185,000 so he had to put it all in on the flop. The flop was {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} and Seif was knocked out by the river card.

Ryan Perez Eliminated in 4th Place ($27,474)

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Ryan Perez - 4th
Ryan Perez - 4th

Ryan Perez has been slowly sliding down the chip counts since coming to the final table as the chip leader. On this hand he gets all in with John Kurfman.

Kurfman raised preflop and Marius Toderici called. Perez shipped all in and Kurfman reshipped all in. Toderici folded.

Kurfman had {a-Spades}{10-Spades} and Perez had {j-}{j-}.

The flop looked safe when it came {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}, but the {q-Spades} on the river really changed that. The river was the {k-Diamonds}, giving Kurfman a straight and eliminating Perez in 4th place.

Hayes Wins Huge Pot With Flop Bet, Takes Chip Lead

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
John Hayes
John Hayes

John Hayes has been playing back at Marius Toderici as their stacks have evened out. After this hand Hayes would be the chip leader and Toderici would be in third place, just behind John Kurfman.

Toderici raised preflop from the small blind to 240,000. That has been his standard raise from the blinds at this level. Hayes reraised to 560,000 and, after some deliberation, Toderici called.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Toderici checked. Hayes bet 345,000 and sent Toderici to the tank. He held his cards in his hands, looking as though any nudge would send them flying into the muck. Eventually, Toderici folded the hand and Hayes claimed the chip lead.

All three stacks are now pretty even.

John Kurfman Eliminated in 3rd Place ($34,178)

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
John Kurfman
John Kurfman

John Hayes continues to dominate play ever since he took the chip lead. John Kurfman shoved once and it got through, but shortly after Hayes pushed back and made up the difference. On this hand, Kurfman would raise to 250,000 on the button, instead of shoving like he did last time.

Hayes reraised to 760,000 and Kurfman went all in shortly after. Hayes called and showed {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Kurfman had {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and had previous success with ace ten suited. This time he didn't fare so well. The board ran out {5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Kurfman was eliminated in third place.

A Double for Toderici

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Marius Toderici
Marius Toderici

The board read {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Spades} and John Hayes and Marius Toderici got in all the chips.

Toderici was at risk with {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}, for a pair and a flush draw. Hayes had {10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw and a lesser flush draw.

The flush got their on the turn with the {4-Spades} and the {j-Clubs} on the river was meaningless. Toderici is now back in the lead.
