No Bluffing!

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Mark Kroon
Mark Kroon

Facing one opponent's three-bet preflop, Mark Koon made it clear he would accept no bluffing at the table.

He eventually made the call and the players went heads-up to the flop. Koon checked dark before the {a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} came down and when his opponent shipped it in, Koon found out quick it was no bluff.

He made the call with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and was well behind his opponent's {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

However, the {q-Spades}{a-Clubs} run out saved the day for Koon as they both made aces full of deuces for the chop.

More For Morford

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Leon Morford's assault on this event continues as he just snatched yet another pot from 2013 MSPT Ho-Chunk champ Joshua Reichard.

Morford called from the button when Reichard made it 700 preflop and the two went heads-up to a {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop.

Both players checked, but Reichard fired 800 at the {q-Hearts} turn and Morford flat called. Finally, the {k-Diamonds} river was revealed, pairing the board.

Reichard decided to check, allowing Morford to fire 2,000 at the pot. It was enough to force a fold.

Kroon's Swoon

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Mark Kroon's luck continues as he managed to bust one player and push up to 70,000 in chips moments ago.

He flopped a pair of tens holding {k-}{10-} against {a-}{k-}. The only issue was Kroon's opponent hit the ace-high flop much harder.

No problem for Koon, however, as he found another ten on the river to make trips before all the money went in.

Anthony Breunig
Anthony Breunig

Due to the huge number of entrants here on Day 1a, the poker room across the hall from the Woodland Dreams event center where the event is playing out has had to accommodate a number of tables.

A quick check over there showed short-stacked structure junkie Allen Kessler nursing a nub and Anthony Breunig making hay.

Breunig claims a number of big hands and a few sets have helped him climb the leader board on over 70,000 now.

Yu Dong
Yu Dong

Chicago's Yu Dong has found his way past the 100,000-chip mark here into the day's seventh level.

Most of the chips were collected in a huge boat-over-boat hand where Dong held {a-}{a-} on an {a-}{10-}{10-} flop versus a player holding {a-}{10-}.

Brett Reichard
Brett Reichard

Two more players have pushed past the 100,000-chip mark and into spots near the top of the leaderboard.

Brett Reichard rode a set of fours past a pair and a flush draw that never got there and Brian Ganos says he's had nothing but big pairs all day to put them both in contention.
