Zipprich Hits the River

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Stephen Zipprich bet 60,000 on {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} from the small blind, and big blind Caleb Meyer called. The river was an {a-Hearts} and Zipprich checked. Meyer patted it back and Zipprich showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to take it.

At other tables, Patrick Pineda and Jim Morrison busted.

Greenberg Doubles Through Tanner

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Stephen Tanner raised to 30,000 in the small blind and Ben Greenberg shoved for 114,000 in the big. Tanner opted to call with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Greenberg rolled over {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

The {6-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} board had Tanner calling for a ten but he found a worthless pair with the {q-Hearts}.

Dixon Holds, Busts Lekarczyk

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Rich Dixon
Rich Dixon

Rich Dixon opened for 28,000 in the hijack and immediately called the shove of Mitch Lekarczyk, who had about 165,000 on the button.

Dixon: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Lekarczyk: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Lekarczyk didn't get exactly what he wanted but he did improve on the {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. The {6-Hearts} and {8-Clubs} danced around him, though, and Dixon collected the pot with kings up.

In what looked to be a three-bet pot, Leonardo Valenzuela checked in middle position on {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Brian Hou bet 55,000 or so from the cutoff into about 200,000, and Valenzuela announced all in. Hou's cards were instantly in the muck.

Valenzuela turned over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

"All right, no more showing," he said.

Valenzuela Eliminates Hou

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Brian Hou was all in for about 180,000 in middle position and Leonardo Valenzuela was in the tank in the big blind. After about a minute, he flicked in a chip.

Hou: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Valenzuela: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop gave Hou a shot to chop but the {4-Spades} and {j-Diamonds} didn't quite do it for the defending champ.

Wilkie Doubles Through Zipprich

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Zipprich checked a {4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop from the small blind and then called Steve Wilkie's 100,000 bet from early position. Both players checked the {7-Diamonds}, and the river was a {2-Diamonds}. Zipprich checked and Wilkie instantly moved all in. It was about 250,000.

"You know you can't win unless you bet," Zipprich mused after a couple of minutes in the tank.

Someone called a clock, and Zipprich called just before the end of the countdown. Wilkie showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a wheel, and Zipprich slapped down {9-Spades}{4-Spades}.
