Gahan Finds a Hero Call for Stacks

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Kyle Gahan
Kyle Gahan

The board read {j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} in a heads up pot with around 20,000 in the middle and the cutoff was all in for 10,400. Action was on Kyle Gahan in the big blind, who was facing a decision for all of his chips.

After at least two minutes, Gahan called and hands were tabled.

Cutoff: {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Kyle Gahan: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Gahan found a call with nothing more than top pair, second kicker, and it wound up being the correct decision as he found his opponent had pure air. Gahan's stack was totaled to 10,300, scoring him the full double and leaving his opponent with a stack totaling one chip of the smallest denomination.

Jacobs Toasted

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Jeremy Jacobs was down to 1,200 and three-bet all in from the small blind over a cutoff open to 400 from Paul Welke. The big blind cold-called and Welke called as well.

No side pot was necessary as both Welke and the big blind checked through the runout of {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and all three hands were tabled

Jeremy Jacobs: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Paul Welke: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Welke's tens up were best over the other two player's ace kicker to the board's two pair of nines and sevens, earning him the pot and sending Jacobs to the rail.

Massey and Rogowski Enter

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Andy Rogowski in Day 1b action
Andy Rogowski in Day 1b action

Both Aaron Massey and Andy Rogowski were seen at the same table during yesterday's Day 1b flight with the two playing several pots and exhibiting a handful of friendly verbal exchanges. Both players were knocked out of the tournament late in the evening after the last break of the night.

Rogowski was just spotted getting back in on the action and moments later, Massey was standing behind him. The two exchanged more pleasantries, laughing about some of the instances from the night before. Massey then walked to an adjacent table and sat back down at his seat, proving that both players have some unfinished business and are ready to get back at it.

Lor Gets a River Raise Through

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

There was around 4,000 in the middle with a board of {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Vue Lor was under the gun in a heads up pot against the player on the button. Lor had checked and his opponent had 2,000 out in front of him.

"Five," said Lor, throwing in a check-raise to 5,000. The dealer confirmed the amount.

The player on the button went into the tank for just over a minute before deciding to let his hand go, resulting in the dealer shipping Lor the pot.

Keating Gets Value With Top Pair

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action folded around to the player on the button and he threw in a raise to 500. The small blind called and Robert Keating came along as well from the big blind to take action three ways to a flop of {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Action checked to the player on the button, who made a continuation-bet of 1,000. The small blind folded and Keating called.

Both players checked the turn {6-Spades} and Keating fired out 1,000 on the river {3-Hearts}. His opponent thought for close to a minute and then tossed in a call.

Keating announced a pair of eights, showing {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}. His opponent paused for a moment and then sent his cards to the muck.

Gervais Wins on River

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Three players limped in from under the gun, middle position, and the hijack before Joshua Gervais pumped it up to 1,600. The first limper folded and the next two called, bringing a flop of {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. All three players checked.

The turn was {5-Clubs} and the middle-position player checked. The hijack made a bet of 2,100 and Gervais called before the player in middle position let his hand go.

The river came {7-Spades} and the hijack checked. Gervais put out a bet of 3,400, sending his opponent into the tank for over a minute. Eventually, he folded and Gervais took down the pot.
