Pupillo Gets a Sweaty Double

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Nick Pupillo
Nick Pupillo

Action folded around to Eric Siegel in the small blind and he announced an all-in raise that was enough to put Nick Pupillo to a decision for his remaining chips in the big blind. Pupillo looked down at his cards and wasted no time calling.

Nick Pupillo: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Eric Siegel: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Pupillo found a sweat on the flop {5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} as Siegel picked up an open-ended straight draw, but it would not fill as the turn {2-Spades} and river {7-Hearts} completed the runout to bring Pupillo up to 800,000.

Meanwhile, 28 players remain as Michael Shapira, JC Ruiz, and Alex Duvall were all recently sent to the payout desk.

Tice Up To 3.5 Million

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Landon Tice
Landon Tice

There was over 500,000 in the middle on a blind-on-blind battle between Raman Afanasenka in the small blind and Landon Tice in the big blind. The board read {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and Afanasenka was facing a bet of 325,000 from Tice after checking to him on the final street.

Afanasenka thought over his decision for well over a minute and eventually dropped in chips to call. Tice tabled {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for the nut flush and Afanasenka sent his cards to the muck. With the pot, Tice now finds himself with about 3.5 million.

Siegel Turns a Wheel To Double

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Eric Siegel was down to his last 170,000 and shoved upon action folding to him in the cutoff. Desmond Haynes called in the big blind.

Eric Siegel: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Desmond Haynes: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {2-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}, increasing Siegel's number of outs by one despite Haynes hitting his already-higher kicker. One of those four new outs appeared on the turn {4-Diamonds} and he sailed to a double as the river {j-Clubs} completed the runout.

Final Three Tables Reached

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
The Final Three Tables
The Final Three Tables

Andrew Brinkley was on the button and re-shoved over a cutoff-open from Landon Tice, who called the shove to put Brinkley at risk for his tournament life.

Andrew Brinkley: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Landon Tice: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

No four came on the runout {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs} and Brinkley found himself eliminated from the tournament. Shortly beforehand, David Moses was also eliminated from the tournament. The pair of eliminations brings the field down to 24, and the tournament clock has been paused with just over a minute remaining until the dinner break while tables are cleaned and all remaining players draw for new seats.

An updated seat draw and list of chip counts will be provided shortly.

Siegel Shoves Into a Bigger Hand

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Eric Siegel
Eric Siegel

Action folded around to Eric Siegel in the hijack and shoved all in for 310,000. A couple of folds ensued and then Abraham Hichman called in the big blind.

Eric Siegel: {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Abraham Hichman: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Four blanks came on the flop {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and turn {5-Clubs}, and Hichman wound up being the one to improve on the river {a-Diamonds} to send Siegel to the rail.
