Larson Shoots Down Bullets

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

A player raised to 1,500 in middle position and action folded around to the big blind, where David Larson reraised to put the player all in for about 35,000. A call was made.

All-In Player: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
David Larson: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Larson was not behind for long as the flop rolled off {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The all-in player picked up four extra outs on the turn {10-Clubs}, but bricked the river {k-Diamonds} and was sent to the rail as a result. Larson now finds himself over 100K after winning the pot.

Phan Gets Value With Full House

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Ryan Phan in Day 1a action
Ryan Phan in Day 1a action

A small pile of chips was in the middle on a board of {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts} with three-way action involving Ryan Phan in middle position and both players in the blinds. Action had checked to Phan and he was in the process of making a bet which wound up totaling 5,300. The small blind folded to put action onto the big blind, who took about 20 seconds to decide on a call.

Phan tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a flopped flush, turned full house, and earned the pot as his opponent tabled a second-best {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

Hengsakul Flops Top Pair

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Peter Hengsakul
Peter Hengsakul

Peter Hengsakul opened the action with a raise to 1,400 under the gun and saw action fold around to the hijack, who called. The player on the button also called, as did both Ryan Dodson in the small blind and the player in the big blind to take action five ways to the streets.

The flop dropped {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and action checked to Hengsakul, who made a continuation-bet of 2,700. Three folds ensued, bringing action back to the big blind who called. With action heads up, both players checked through the turn {6-Spades} and river {8-Spades} to take the hand to showdown.

The big blind showed {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a pair of nines, which wound up being no good to Hengsakul's {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.
