New MSPT Chips and Tables

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

To say a lot of preparation went into the debut MSPT Showdown Series at Sycuan Casino would be an understatement. Both the tour and venue have been working together for months to bring players a great festival, and part of that called for investing in brand new MSPT-branded tables and chipset.

Here's a look at both...

Aaron Knapp Gets Lucky to Score Knockout

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Aaron Knapp
Aaron Knapp

The preflop action escaped us, but we do know that a player got their stack all in and was at risk, albeit primed to double, through Aaron Knapp.

Aaron Knapp: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {k-}{k-}

Knapp was on the wrong end of the cooler but got lucky when the flop came down {q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{7-Spades} to give him a set.

Neither the {9-Spades} turn nor {a-Diamonds} river changed a thing and Knapp collected the pot while sending an opponent to the rail.

"I Knew It Was Going to be a 10-High Flop"

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Mike Souza & David Woodworth
Mike Souza & David Woodworth

Mike Souza raised to 1,400 from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet to 3,300 from David Woodworth on the button.

Both blinds folded and Souza put in the additional 1,900 to see a flop of {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Souza checked, Woodworth moved all in for 16,500, and the former leaned back in his chair.

"I knew you were going to do that," said Souza, who put together chips as if he was going to call.

He must've though better about it though as he eventually sent his cards, pocket jacks, to the muck face up.

Woodworth obliged him and showed {k-}{k-} for the bigger pocket pair.

"I knew it was going to be a ten-high flop," a relieved Souza said.
