The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Venetian comes to its conclusion as the final day of the $1,600 Main Event gets underway at 11 a.m. local time.

Yesterday's Day 2 saw 166 players return to the felt and after 15 Levels of play, only eight remained with Daan Mulders leading the pack with 8,565,000.

The man who resides from Netherlands will look to secure his largest ever live-tournament cash and his first MSPT Main Event title.

Hot on Mulders' tail is WSOP bracelet winner Barry Hutter who sits in a close second with 7,170,000. Hutter is arguably the most decorated player remaining having over $6.5 million in live-tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob, and will look to add another six-figure payday to that total.

Day 3 was looking like the full final table of nine would be in their seats but Victor Canaple hit a few rough hands before the final level of Day 2 and became the first final table elimination, meaning eight players will be returning to the felt today. Each of them has secured $40,129, but all eyes will be on the $325,428 first-place prize that the eventual champion will be taking home, along with the MSPT Venetian title.

The remaining nine players have all secured $40,129, but all eyes will be on the $325,428 first-place prize that the eventual champion will be taking home, along with an MSPT Venetian title.

Uselis Trips Up Mulders

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Daan Mulders raised to 400,000 from under the gun and then called the 1,000,000 three-bet Gediminas Uselis made from the hijack.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Mulders check-called the 400,000 continuation bet from Uselis, which brought in the {j-Spades} turn.

Both players checked and the dealer paired the board with the {q-Clubs} on the river. Mulders checked-called Uselis's 800,000 bet only to r Uselis roll over {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for trip queens.

Fabian Bernhauser Eliminated in 8th Place ($40,129)

Action on the table folded around to Fabian Bernhauser who was quick to move his 3,900,000 stack in the middle from the small blind. Daan Mulders called after getting an official count from the dealer.

Fabian Bernhauser: {3-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Daan Mulders: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Bernhauser was racing for his tournament life and fell behind after an ace appeared in the window on the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop.

The {4-Spades} turn left Bernhauser needing a three on the river but the {6-Spades} came crashing down and ended his tournament.

Raul Martínez Eliminated in 7th Place ($51,595)

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Raul Martínez
Raul Martínez

Gennaro Proscia was all in preflop for 3,050,000 from the cutoff, Daan Mulders called from the small blind and Raul Martínez called off his 825,000 stack from the big blind.

Raul Martínez: {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Gennaro Proscia: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Daan Mulders: {9-Spades}{5-Spades}

Proscia held the best hand out of the three and liked that a king appeared in the window on the {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop.

The {6-Diamonds} turn wasn't a good sight for Martínez as it left him drawing dead. The {8-Spades} river sealed his fate and Martinez was eliminated in seventh place for $51,585 while Proscia collected his double plus some.
